What happens now: Both the Wooden Blade and Trainee Wooden Blade are missing an important melee tag.
What should happen instead: The /weapontype_combat/ tag should be added to these weapons.

The Renovation: Melee update added various skills and skill buffs for melee weapons and combat.
- Bash and Rage Impact were added.
- Final Hit uses no durability on swords/axes/blunts.
- You can walk with Counterattack loaded with a melee weapon.
- Charge and Assault Slash have splash damage with a melee weapon.

... but none of these updates apply to the Wooden Blade because it's missing a tag.
Devcat's find-and-replace may have missed it due to the lack of either the /steel/ or /blade/ tag.

I don't believe this was on purpose, for the following three reasons.
1 - Wooden Sticks and Wooden Clubs get the bonuses, so it's not a bias against wooden weapons.
2 - Hand puppets, clipboards, skateboards, opera glasses, pom poms, and handcuffs get the bonuses, so it's not a bias against non-serious weapons.
3 - It's not mentioned as an exception in the patch notes.

Did you mean to create this thread in the General section? I usually see you post these sorts of things in the Bugs & Glitches section.

I made it in bugs, then it got moved into incomplete (I was missing the server/IGN stuff), I flagged it for moving back but it looks like a VFM modes it here instead of the bugs section.

Just move it back. You can do that you know.

Edit your thread. Where it says General is actually a drop down box. Select bugs, save.

    Ferghus moved it.
That's interesting though regarding wooden weapons...

I feel like this might have been intentional though, since rapiers also cannot use bash.

    ...

Then again all microphones are non-reforgeable, which feels really weird since all instruments are.

Just an FYI. Any time an OP makes an edit to the first post of a their thread, it will usually default to the General forum section. This is usually why threads are found out of place if they weren't made in that section originally. It's best to always double check the category before saving the edit, but as Gaea already mentioned, you can edit and change the category any time if need be.
