Why can't we sing to Pink Bean?

So the [vocal] Music Skill is called: "Song" If you have a Homestead Pink Bean, he grants a daily quest called: "A Song for Pink Bean" Yet if you sing for him, rather than play an instrument, the quest does not track that effort. :| Please allow us to sing for Pink Bean. (I need an excuse to level the skill)
