    We've appended a line in the Pet Trainer Guide under the Friend Summon Slot section.

    "Unlike during Fynn Syncing, pets registered to these slots do not disappear. You must drag and drop the Friend Summon onto an opened slot in order to register it. It is not registered during Fynn Syncing."

    This is, indeed, because of an issue where people thought the Friend Summon Slot was registered by Fynn Syncing the Friend Summon pet instead of adding it to an opened slot (and subsequently losing it).
