Making me hungry for pineapple pizza...

"This just in, long running MMO Mabinogi closes after droves of players abandon the game, when the update introducing pineapple on pizza debuted. More at 12".

It's better than olives or mushroom on pizza!

I don't know whachu talkin bout. Olive pizza is da bomb! Then again, I'm the type that likes pineapple, olives, and spinach on pizza...

This isn't meant to be an attack on you by any means, just quoting it because it leads into my point.
Levels mean a lot, it's the difference between someone who can run phantasm vs someone who does solo rooms faster than most parties can do a room together. At total level 40k shine skill adds nearly 400 to all stats. That's an extra none boosted 160 Max damage. When you're stacking things like bonechip/overture that difference is monstrous.

Certainly there comes a point where levels indicate your strength and mean something. All I meant was, a player who's strategically mastered a talent or two at level 500 could be far more effective in combat than a 1k (or even 2k) player who's used their AP poorly and relies too much on their equips. Someone who's 40k is obviously going to be god-like since we can safely assume they haven't been sitting around twiddling their thumbs and neglecting to advance their skills/stats in all that time...not to mention the stat boost. Anyway, I just see so many people intimidate noobs with their 2k total level, when the reality is that it might not mean all that much right now.
But it comes back to this...what's the goal here? What's the point of giving newbies an easy 5k levels? Just so they're a drop in the bucket closer to being able to steamroll Phantasm/[ insert combat scenario here ]? That's not the point of the game...

seems like it's mostly so that newbies could quickly develop enough to get through the lvl limits for newer content and get a taste for all the different things they could do...lvl limits they added to the game to keep newbies out...IT MAKES SENSE, I SWEAR! OONG SUNG PARK TOLD ME SO!

Alternatively, they could tone down the infinite sources of gold that are all over the place and stop releasing shadow crystals when they're obviously a huge part of the problem. Simply putting the option of spending 159k per point for 98% is unappealing to the point where that option might as well not exist. Especially since people tend to be loss averse.

They could do that as well but it's more helpful for them to remove the gold that's already circulating in the system. That's what's controlling the prices right now and leaving it while limiting income would basically just make a class divide, making it so that the older and wealthier players retain all the wealth and set all the prices to trade among themselves while everyone who's new or didn't accumulate that gold beforehand would be locked out of the market unless they chance upon an item that lets them skim some of the old money players. It would basically be the same as now, but worse.

So, yeah, the bigger problem is the money that's already accumulated among a smaller group of players who can set all the prices for items.I'm not saying they can't do that too and you aren't saying they should only do that but know that the gold sink has a bigger impact than turning down the money faucet.

othila and odal are different names for the same rune. Since it's an actual writting system, it changes a little by location and time in terms of how it's written and pronunciation. Like, for example, it doesn't look like they used the elder Futhark, the oldest form of runes, but mostly the Anglo-Saxon version instead.

the celtic one is Gebo: gifts(or exchange), balance, and partnerships.

it's a little smaller than the others but stinger's seems to be Jera: one cycle/year, patients and the rewards of a long harvest. You could say it's "commitment and benefits born from commitment".
