So I saw this amazing bag is a possible reward from the fishing event, so I decided to go check the wiki to see what events it was given in before and I saw that it supposedly drops from old fishing traps from the winter fishing event! I just so happen to have like 800 of those rotting in my inventory! I would have opened those so much sooner if I knew. Now if this maintenance will end soon, I can go open my masses of ancient event boxes and probably not get the bag, YAY!

Omg, Im reading more and now deranged hipster man is a famous author of deranged hipster Mabinovels?! Thats it, Iv had enough, I can feel my brain folding into the fifth dimension, leaving reality as we know it into realms the likes of which even the gods have never seen. The infinite secrets of life lie within mind-wrenching tales of a madman who never grows, wandering the infinite, empty planes of iria!

I don't remember what year it was I started, but I remember G2 had just come out when I started because everyone was excited for the release of Paladin. I really have no idea why I leapt playing back then, cause lets be honest, G2 Mabi was AWEFUL! (and not like cooking dungeon mobs without -CP gear) I played back then as far as to find out that the game was basically pay to play in disguise, then stopped, but came back when they made RB and mainstreams free for the first time, back when RB was once every 3 weeks. Since then the game has had some super bad problems (anyone remember "Shoot the Sun" and the complete loss of friends list functionality? Or character lockouts? Or hackers spamming dragon meteor in the middle of Dunbarton? Or that old gold dupe glitch that got an insane amount of players banned?) but eventually polished itself up into what it is now. I think the main reason I liked Mabi so much was that it was completely unique, and the verity the game had with everyone having access to all skills at any time and being able to rank or not rank whatever suited their play style was really cool. I also really liked that the growth potential of a character was as close to limitless as I had ever seen. Learning how combat works was a huge hurdle, but once I got everything down, the combat became really satisfying when lag wasn't getting me killed. Recently there has been a HUGE amount of effort to stabilize and debug the game as well as to rework outdated, dead content to make it meaningful, and it really shows. There have been a few times where I quit Mabi for 6 months to a year or more because the game was in shambles for a fairly large portion of its lifespan up til recently. Now even if im not actively playing I regularly check back on the website to see whats going on. Mabi is really shaping up into the game its deserved to be for a long time, and Im really please that a game as unique as this one has come as far as it has. I really like Erg infusion and the new field raids, I havnt tried the non-field ones yet, but I will eventually. I like the addition of Baltane missions to give me something to do besides SM's for eternity, which were really starting to get tedious. I also really like how highly customizable your characters appearance is, even though I dont use it much myself. Iv seen some really cool characters put together over the years, which is another thing that Mabi has that few other games do.Im really looking forward to seeing what becomes of Mabi in the future. I am really interested in the fact that the next update is PVP focused. This game doesn't really have much going for its PVP, which si too bad, because Mabi's combat can get as thrilling and intense as a more fast paced 2D fighter. I would love to see more gameplay revolving around pvp, I might actually do it more.

The main thing that really draws me to Mabi is how unique it is.

In case it wasn't clear btw, Ive given up on trying to actually solve this via insane math. I'm just going to trust in Nexon's track record of being horribly inaccurate with math regarding balance and buy the cheaper box unless someone smarter then I am comes along and solves this or manages to mine the actual drop rate.

So I was looking over the drop list for the 2 event boxes for the quiz show and it seems the special box has unique rewards, so I was wondering if that was the only difference between the two or if there are adjusted odds for rare items with the special box? Since its so rare its hard to say from only one persons experience, but if anyone who has obtained a bag can remember what box they got it from it could get us closer to knowing which is better to go for to get the Carasek's Bag.

My reasoning here is that the normal box is only 10 tickets while the special is 20. If the only difference is the drop pools then that means that the normal box would actually be the best one if you don't care about the unique drops in the special box. On the other hand, if that's not the only difference and the special box has a higher chance to drop the bag then the normal box, it might be worth spending twice the tickets per box if the change in drop rate makes up for the cost increase.

Personally, that bag is the only item in any of the currently running events that I really care about. Training seals would be nice, but I haven't even gotten one, and iv been going on the assumption that the special box is better until recently.

Something else to be mindful of is that if the number of one kind of box a person opened is disproportionate to the number of the other kind of box, it will make the odds appear skewed when they actually aren't. Say you only opened 10 normals and 100 specials, its obviously going to be more likely for you to get it in specials at that point even if the drop rate is the same.

There are also more items in the normal box by 9. If the drop rates are the same, that would give the special box a slightly higher chance to drop the bag, but I don't think it would be enough to make up for the cost doubling.
