  • A Solution to the Dye Economy

In my opinion, the current system which we use to dye our gear is outdated.

Much like failing repairs and waiting through the smash animation, the dye economy is a bit too 2008.

I'm sure you all know the pain of not being able to dye your items in your favorite shade. Most neon dyes (if not all) are relegated to month-long gachapons that only show up once and might not ever be brought back again, and your particular shade of dye might not appear for months if not a year or more. In my case, the dye I prefer is a neon purple with the hex code #6300ff. This dye is so rare, however, that I must also use another shade, hex #9c00ff, or the Eiren shade, hex #8c0cc5, none of which match each other, but are barely passable. The only time I can get any of my dyes are when people put them on the auction house as leftovers from times past, and that is almost never. I couldn't even get a full set to dye the trim on my saint armor after spending 15m on every one on the auction house, and with the new gacha, they released a purple that can't pass for my purple because it has too much green in it. Who knows how long it will be until they release another purple dye pack that actually contains one my shades?

Now that Nexon is starting to look into changing the dye game by doubling the amount of dyes necessary to dye new items, I feel that the players need some alternative to dye their items. An alternative to waiting around for months if not a year or more, hoping that their dye will get released, that is.

It's possible to introduce a system that allows players to take existing dyes and convert them into their shade by using a homestead implement similar to the already implemented paint mixing kettle: a Dye Mixing Vat

This vat would cost a good few materials to put in your homestead (ex. 20 wood boards, 10 iron plates, 5 copper plates, 40 large nails, 5 red paint, 5 green paint, 5 blue paint), would occupy a space the same size as the paint mixing kettle and have a model similar to it (maybe even the same model). The purpose of this vat would be to allow the user to take an existing dye in their inventory, and change the Red, Green and Blue values of the dye separately with no chance of failure, and would be able to change values on all types of fixed dyes (normal, metal, instrument, pet, etc). Each use would cost something like 5 paint of the respective color (red, green or blue) and 500,000 gold, with the player only being able to choose 1 value (r, g or b) to change at a time.

The aim of this system is to retain the sense of accomplishment and prestige that players get from dyeing their items, but also make it possible for them to dye those items in the first place. In games such as warframe, where coloring and recoloring your items has virtually no cost, the sense of accomplishment from dyeing your items doesn't exist, and having a fully decked out two-tone or tri-tone outfit means nothing. I'd like to avoid that, as dyeing items is one of the endgame activities that Mabinogi offers. I feel that the addition of this item would make fashion much more enjoyable to the playerbase, and make it possible for more players to participate more often with their preferred shades, as well as adding a new gold sink, while not messing with the prices of standard white and black too much, as to minimize the damage to sales of non-fixed dyes and direct dyes (it would cost 1.5m + materials to convert a dye into one of those yourself using the dye vat). Right now, I don't participate in fashion at all purely because of how the dye economy is, and it being next to impossible for me to dye anything. I'd like to change that, and I hope, however optimistically, that my idea is considered.

    Thanks.

  • Abusing and harassing math dungeon event

Your comment was edited for the following reason(s):
    - If you wish to report in-game abuse you must use the in-game report options, website options or the ticketing system.
    - The forums are not the channel for reporting players.
    - Reporting players through the forums can be seen as harassment as it can lead to disruptive, inflammatory behavior.

While playing with my friends I though maybe we can add another person in our math dungeon run event that going on, then this kid holds the key and tells us to leave.
Here are pic. please let me know if you had same problem with this guy. I'm sure he did this to others. Character name that is abusing and harassing the system and others for this action is -removed- if thats even how you spell it who knows the L=l could be a #= 1.
    -removed-

This happened to me the last time this event was on. I like to keep a few Goddess Wings in my inventory so I can warp the whole party out (including the key holder) if they refuse to give up the key. :)

  • Bachram Explosion Quest - Heads Up

Just a PSA for anyone still collecting the pages:

The next goal in the quest after collecting the pages is to have one squire at likeability level 5, so while you're waiting for Baltane Mission resets, you might want to use your spare time in Avalon Gate chatting with Logan or Kanna, who straight up tell you their desired conversation topics.
