@Sherri I know the feeling when it comes to screenshotting your character, here's what I do --
This is outside dunbarton - next to the trade post I usually try and screenshot around 12 - noon, If its too busy around that area, try screenshotting in your homestead (if you have the sunny ones) usually the lighting is great ♥
with colour pallets I go to this site -- http://www.color-hex.com/color/2f2b47 and make little boxes of the colours I've used in the outfit It's the best way to do it if you don't want the shade/highlights of the game messing with the eyedrop on any of the art programs like paint/photoshop/sai etc.
