  • New idea for improving mabinogi.

"A stock is an investment. When you purchase a company’s stock, you’re purchasing a small piece of that company, called a share. For companies, issuing stock is a way to raise money to grow and invest in their business. When you own stock in a company, you are called a shareholder because you share in the company’s profits."

The question then is, what companies are we buying shares of? maybe the Erskin Bank, Lezzaro Vineyard, Eluned Vineyard, Festia Entertainment Group, Tailteann Farming Cooperative, Bean Rua Bar, Loch Lois Restaurant in Emain, Alchemy Society headquartered in Tailteann's alchemist manor.

The other option is to invest in guilds instead of companies. We buy shares of a guild, then the guild uses the money to run content, then they somehow turn those gains into money or guild worth, and finally the shares go up in value. idk, just throwing out ideas.

  • Fee to pay...

Oh no, is this a Google Stadia thread?

It will be. In the future, even forums and wiki sites will be streamed to you as a semi-interactible video. HTML and browsers will be a thing of the past, no more right-click --> save link as, no more highlighting text. Imagine watching a very high quality video of someone reading a forum. That's the future for everyone.
  • hardest part of g23 is basically RNG

RNG bottlenecks are the only method the devs could think of to slow down very strong players (which are the target audience for these late-game generations). How do you slow down end-game players for about a month?

How about a quest that has huge wait times based on existing content? Something like... a quest to give Rua's brother a Make-A-Wish Foundation experience. You have to rent out Festia so he can enjoy it all alongside the baltane squires, then treat him to a home-cooked dinner of his 10 favorite foods with Rua in your homestead mansion and then have Pencast read him his last rites.

This sounds easy enough, but it indirectly requires:
    - Rua sidequest completion
    - Good standing with all baltane squires
    - About 80 festia VIP passes
    - Mastery of all Festia attractions to impress your guest.
    - Homestead mansion and housing lease.
    - High ranked cooking and rank 1 catering.
    - Top quality player-made wine aged for many days used to bribe Pencast.
    - 9x9 squares of homestead space for the cenotaph.
    - Amulet of soul-trapping to transfer the boy's soul into an existing level 30+ ego weapon.

At the end you get to fight Rua, who has every player skill, access to recovery items, and cloud-backed machine learning AI.

the water thing i get. its not something easy to fix. but finding another solution would be great. like changing the ingrident to "water source" and then making other items such as big bottles, or changing old bottles...having and switching out 60 bottles over and over for potions is....well. boring.
changing water would be so good though...

I agree but changing how the recipe window accepts the bottled water ingredient would take a lot of work, and only benefit a few crafting recipes. I could see it happening as part of a complete overhaul (it's easier to figure out how to implement a change like this when you're working from scratch, than it is to go through the spaghetti and tug on things until you find a solution that fits) but this is a pretty low priority thing to overhaul right now really.

I disagree. Fixing the ridiculous water system is a high priority to make the cooking system not torture. This will benefit more than just "a few crafting recipes." Take a look at the wiki page for water https://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Water . Water is used directly in 49 recipes and indirectly in almost all final dish recipes (water is used to make intermediate ingredients: the different doughs, the different pastas, the different noodles, fry batter, vinegar, rice, and more). If you include milk (the other bottle-able liquid) then you affect almost all of the cooking system.

Then there's the potion system that requires 1 bottle of water to create just ONE of these: the 300 potions, the 500 potions, the 300 RE and 500 RE potions, the special potions like poison potion, antidote potion, cooking potion, likeability potion, good luck potion.

Here's what the system could look like. Bottles will hold one unit of liquid, buckets will hold 6, and canisters/barrels will hold 18. (im just guessing on the numbers tbh) I think bottles should also get another utility use so that people will still carry one or two around. They can trap live bugs, make molotov cocktails, make an impromptu random choice jar or voting jar, stick a few coins in it to make an instrument, any other ideas?
