    That's because those are the two neutral colours that practically go with anything - everything else (browns, creams, grays, ect) may or may not match depending on what colours you're using. ( it's also dependent on how savvy you are with colour theory, because white/black are the easiest to work with if you're not so great with it... )

    But I have to admit, other colour combinations are a lot more fun to work with! and a lot cheaper

    It isn't necessarily always with white and black, I like the three together.
