are the points for the pet box supposed to accumulate EVERY time you open a box or do they only accumulate each set of boxes you open and if you close it you lose them?

    Yeah, you gain 1 point every time you open a Summer Forest Pet Box, and should remain until the end of the sale period (June 27th, before maintenance).
