How does advancing Spirit of Order work?

You can't take back points so hypothetically if I advance the Spirit of Order to Rank 1 would the other order skills underneath not be able to be advanced?

    Leveling up fills up the little "EXP bar" for Spirit of Order and when you click (advance), you can pick how you want to use those EXP points.

    Like say: Using them on Shield of Order will 'drain them' from the main EXP bar and put them into the Shield of Order EXP bar.
    Or you can just fill up the main EXP bar completely and just use them to rank up Spirit of Order instead

    And no, you can spend the points however and whenever you want. Ranking up Spirit of Order makes the main EXP bar bigger. Bigger EXP bar means you can collect and spend more EXP at once on those sub skills. A rank 1 Paladin EXP bar has enough EXP in it to rank up a big handful of rank-F sub skills

    The EXP bar will always fill up with level-up EXP as long as there's empty space. So you're fine
