Bandit Pursuit: what am I doing wrong

So I've been pursuing this same bandit that robbed me for more than an hour. I've been to the homestead about a half dozen times and still no ducats in the mail. Each of these times the boss has not been on the homestead so I'm guessing that they have to be for the pursuit to finally be concluded. So is there some way to improve the possibility of the boss being there, I mean other than the usual method Nexon expects of us: keep banging our heads against the wall until the Gods of random chance deem us worthy. I tired going to the exact spot where I was robbed and trying to get a bandit there; nogo. I'm on a mount to search faster and it seems bandits take about 5 or more minutes to show up, which seems to also be in line with Nexon's belief that frustration equals fun!

Some of you out there must be good at this; how to maximize your effectiveness without pulling your hair out?

To "fix" the low spawn rate of bandits, you can have someone enter Commerce mode and act as a "spotter" for you.
Since any bandits THEY see can still be activated by you, even if you can't see them.
You can act as your own spotter, but it's not very efficient as you'd have to cancel commerce and go enter Pursuit mode and then go back to where you saw the spawn.

As for increasing the chance of the bandit boss actually being at the homestead... That's just random chance.

Bandits only spawn while commercing. They will not spawn while you are in pursuit mode. What you can do is do some quick commerce runs and cause bandits to appear on the field. Avoid them and return after you finish you commerce run.

OR you can buy one inexpensive Dunbarton item, hop on a wagon, run around the fields of Dunbarton, spawn and avoid bandits, cancel your commerce trip, hop into pursuit mode, and smack those bandits.

Are you playing on Alexinia? Which bandit boss stole from you? I could join the hunt if you want.

They WILL spawn while in pursuit mode, but at badly reduced rates. (I was murderously vengeful after a crash one time so I hunted them relentlessly for a full day). But back on point, its better to stalk someone commercing as any bandit kills you make has a chance of dropping the HS pass. But besides that, the actual boss appearing is entirely random.

It's always faster to ask someone to commerce to help you with pursuit.
    People still commerce?
