    Something I noticed - the transformation diary also have the slime along with Balor and some other monsters

    Though I have to ask why not use the slimes (along with Tathlums and Illusion Salamanders) as a collectable monster rather than using the NPC medals to get those? Balor I can understand why though.

    they gave up on letting us actually collect monsters ages ago -_- .... just like they gave up letting us beuild new things in our homestead rather than get them from gachas / events

    the model for this mob has been around since saga part 2 when Treasure Hunter dropped his book and it was covered by the blobs which were called "Alien creature".
    Then they are used again for Kunai storm dan tests

    but technically it is the first time they were called slimes.
