What if Nexon sold gold and ducats?

    In quite a few MMOs, people sell gold as a means of money laundering.
    1. Buy in-game item with stolen credit cards details.
    2. Sell it for in game gold for less than the going rate to get rid of it quickly.
    3. Sell in game gold for money again, albeit less than they started but without a clear trail.

    If we assume that's what the gold sellers in mabi are doing, then no price Nexon could ever sell gold for could undercut them. In fact, Nexon selling gold would just give them a more direct route to doing it.

    If they're not the money laundering sort and instead farm gold with different bots, then they'd still be able to turn a profit unless Nexon sold gold at less than the price of electricity.

    Yeah, I suppose, but that would be horribly slow and limited in scale: there are much better ways to launder money.
