Thank you for actually reading over things with the update and making the effort to clarify it and dispel the potential FUD that was brewing here. It's difficult to feel pity for those who who just skipped over everything and just assumed what would happen.
In the case of OP though, I respect them for being calm about it, and I'm happy to hear that they were able to get their pet back!
