The only videos I have that have a lot of views would be the couple's flight videos I have. They have 600-1000 views each. I know what I will do now: couple's flight music videos! XD

GOOD POINT. The inconsistencies and nepotism have resurfaced! How good quality along with the ToS grants us qualification?
I (as a streamer) being asked to give up a lot of freedom in exchange for, what, exactly?
Don't just put out the ideas and rules of being a pawn in this game of information and influence to us and don't explain our benefits and incentive.
You're essentially asking us to work for you. I play Mabinogi for fun and I stream to show people what I've learned and how I do things in content. I don't do it for followers. I don't do it for Nexon. I don't do it for fame or money. I just like to play. So, if you're going to ask me to change that, I'd at least want to know the whole trade-off to having to change my entire paradigm -- the Rules indicate this, no doubt -- surrounding how I regard Nexon, the community, and the game itself in both criticism and praise alike.
False premise assuming I don't support the game. I'm already giving publicity to Mabinogi as it is, despite the everyday nonsense I see happening in-game and out-of-game. I really like the game that much. But, don't get it twisted: it won't be my fault if the game goes under, whether I do this or not. Mabinogi's survival isn't my responsibility. I'm not a tool to be used to sustain it, either. This is going to be a "mutual benefit" thing, or I'm out.
I don't know what the incentive is. That's my whole thing, here. What are we getting for all this time investment into sustaining publicity?
I don't mind promoting Mabinogi at all. But, if I have to suddenly find myself restricted in how I do things, we have a problem.
As it seems right now: I'd be doing more work than I personally deem necessary to promote a company and its associates I know little about on a personal level, whom I lean towards distrusting, whom hasn't shown me the same level of dedication I've shown to the game as a player, and also asks me to curtail some freedoms I enjoy for their sake in exchange for, what, exactly? As I see it: nothing. I'm not going to do this job -- it's a job, call it what you want -- if the pay isn't tasteful.
EDIT: No. I don't pay attention to what pretty much anyone does anymore. I just play the game. Feel free to message me some names you'd think I may have picked up in my journey across Erinn. But, people quit for many reasons. Some of them I find dumb, anyway, and tell me they weren't meant to be here long at any rate. I'm not worried.
Regardless, I wasn't even talking to you in the initial post.
@Nexon: Anyway, I hope you guys explain this more in detail and soon. I'm personally interested, but it doesn't look worthwhile. I'm getting YouTube vibes from this.
For me, either of these are deal breakers; I'm out.
- Does this rule really apply to all of the channel's content, for example, non-Mabinogi content such as other video games using 3rd party songs for the fun of it or videos of family and friends with commercial songs in the background playing. Usually, youtube channels have these types of videos using 3rd party commercial songs without malicious or commercial intent.
- Or maybe the rules only apply to specific videos meant for promoting Mabinogi stuff? For example, maybe a gachapon promotional video?
I think a lot of channels would be disqualified due to the "no third party stuff" rule right away. Creating a new youtube account or channel just for Mabinogi seems like the only way if you want to be a sponsored "soul streamer" because almost every channel has 3rd party content used for fun.
It would be awesome to be sponsored by Nexon so I can hold contests for people and they'd receive prizes (and maybe have some gachapons and stuff for myself as well!), that would be a lot of fun! I've hosted a lot of contests in multiple MMOs on my own whenever I had extra in game money. On games such as Kal Online, Flyff, Ran Online, Perfect World, Guild Wars, WoW, I held personal events such as "Hide and Seek", "Bring Me" where players would race to bring me an item that almost everyone has access to, "Fighting Tournaments" where sometimes there were specific rules such as "Melee Only", "Magic Only" or "Naked Battle" (just armorless/weaponless bare knuckles fighting lol!), and sometimes I made "Mystery" contests where I'd create a few videos related to the game depicting a crime scene, there would also be exhibits of evidence available, interviews with "suspects" and players would have to study them and form a conclusion to solve the crime.
Anyway, if this was on a "video by video" basis where the promotional video would be the only thing that has to comply with the "no 3rd party stuff" rule, I'd definitely give this a try haha
Whatever Sophie, you do you.
I mean yeah if it bothers you, especially if you don't understand it - then don't do it. Plain and simple.
Ultimately guys...if you want to support this then it's going to come with some caveats. But if you just like making videos for fun and doing whatever the hell you want, then having this "perk" might not be your cup of tea. Because essentially you would (in part) become peanut paid representatives of Nexon. On the other hand you would help bring this game more exposure (which imo it needs).
It just all depends how you feel about it and if you are willing to support it or not. Ok?
We're not living a Communistic utopia. This is clearly a one-sided deal. I'm not the only one seeing it. These are quite a lot of restrictions to place on people you need help from if the game really is in that bad of a shape. I don't see why this has to be difficult.
Exactly.
Plus, what Helsa pointed out also heavily affected my perspective. I'm instead making the effort to try to reason with them through this instead of outright rejecting the offer, not that I think Helsa walking away is a bad move in the first place.
At least they aren't forcing us to show our nipples like that one Ferghus Valentine day video.
Edit: Maybe they will actually YIKES.
Edit: That Influencer policy sounds like enslavement to me~
Oh yeah it's a total giant conspiracy because one of our members is DUN DUN DUNNN...a volunteer forum mod. kek. Whooptie doo. Also if you have actually analyzed my comments further I have massive opposition to Nexon policies and their business model. I'm also pretty convinced that they bleeping hate me for all of my controversial standpoints which I can get pretty heated over on here. But here is the thing; I've delt with legal jargon such as this on multiple platforms in the past. It is rare that you get them to revise any of their legal implementations because it goes way beyond the staff. The staff are almost as helpless as us, they always have been.
So my stance on this is presenting you a double edge sword per say. You participate - you're signing your soul away. On the other hand if you do you're helping out this community. Ultimately there is little one can do to change their policies. You might be able to get them to sweeten the pot. But that's about it and we don't even know how sweet that pot is atm tbh.
There is no white knighting here. Tbh, no one gives a bleep about me. I am outside of most prominent circles. If I was to poof from this universe no one would even bat an eye.
Oh you. I can never stay mad at you; kissies
Can anyone answer why having our work, and a sizable chunk of our privacy, owned by Nexon saves the game while if it doesn't, it doesn't? I mean I found MabiBobo's channel on YouTube all by myself, and I'm only just on the happy-side of five feet tall and everything. This is an online computer game; doesn't that presuppose that the players of it have some ability to find resources of their own accord?
If the game need's saving then maybe Nexon should advertise or something.
Like what kind of advertising are you thinking of?
