I think it would be fun if we could see combat power numbers. We have quite a few features that used to only be accessible with mods that have been implemented into the game over the years. Why not that? I honestly don't think it would be harmful to have and it would be one major less reason to mod. A lot of people mod just to have access to that feature alone.

This has the potential to breed even more toxicity and elitism in a game already overflowing with it. However if it were to be implemented it would probably cut down greatly on the amount of users that infringe on the bullet 1 of the code of conduct. I have copy and pasted the referred to portion below.

    V. CODE OF CONDUCT

You will not use the Services in any manner that, in Nexon’s sole discretion, is unlawful or could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Services or interfere with Nexon’s or any others’ use and enjoyment of the Services. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, prohibited conduct includes the following, subject to applicable law:

Using any hacks, cracks, bots, or third-party software that may modify, temporarily or permanently, the code or the user experience of the Services, whether locally on your device or on servers, or using any application, software or technology that is not expressly authorized by us that enables cheating, power-leveling, or accomplishing game tasks that cannot be accomplished without the use of such an application, software or technology.

Of course it would be an option that could be enabled in settings and everyone would be subject to the CoC regardless of what features are available.

It would eliminate a major reason for modding and would allow people to see where their progress is really at after ranking certain skills. Not to mention it would be neat if we could see the true power levels of monsters and bosses. Plus people could compare themselves to maxed out players and would create novelty competition with friends thus providing even more encouragement to progress through the game.

Also it would show the lower end players why they are so weak in comparison. A lot of players don't really grasp the concept of ranking ALL skills. They just focus on a few skills and then that's it. If they could see CP's then that would show them the reality of the situation.

FTR I don't mod, but I used to (I have already been punished). I ask those who do mod to read my cp.

If Nexon implements it, into the game, then it automatically becomes kosher. In the mean time I wrote an Excel Sheet where you write various mob's ratings, Boss, Awful, and so on, and their CP score, getting those numbers from the Wiki, and it produces a range of values that your CP must fall inside. If you pick the right monsters you can get it down to a range that you'll find "good enough". As for other folks CP, you don't need to use a mod, you just need someone else that does! :)

We already have this. The Additional Info tab now displays "Total Combat Skill Level" and "Total Life Skill Level." They add up the number of ranks you've gained across all your skills and present you the total of that equation. All you have to do is ask people to share it with you, because it's actually a great gauge of how well a character has been fundamentally developed.

... Having standards for your party isn't elitism. Elitism is when you only work with the best of the best and believe the best of the best should have final say in any problem, situation, or conflict; that they should rule all and decide all. Someone asking you to -- for example -- have a second talent to switch into to back up your first isn't elitism. Asking someone to -- for example -- be able to activate and use Dampen Shock / Blunting Field Level 10 to survive Feth Fiada lasers is not elitism. That's a literal content requirement. Also, some strategies exempt use of a certain talent or skill; if you need to keep enemies together, then someone spamming Hailstorm is probably not going to be welcome, no.

But, elitism does exist quite commonly in games, for sure. There are people in this game who believe that if you don't have max rolled Creepy/Haunted accs and a Destruction Robe, then you are beneath them and unable to do any content whatsoever; if you can, then you can't do it as well as them, because they're gods and you are not one of them. People also seem to think their real life professions somehow matter at all in a virtual world, such as this one. You may be a lawyer/biologist/doctor, but you're still probably bad at Rabbie Phantasm and Seven Nightmares since being good at one thing doesn't make you an expert on everything else. In fact, you're probably not even the best at your profession, either. :joy:

But, let's not pretend that the first paragraph and the second paragraph are the same thing. Seeing people throw that word "elitism" around has gotten ridiculous, since the actual elitists started now throwing it at anyone who disagrees with them. It's abused in gaming communities about as much as the words "racist," and "sexist," and "harassment." Content has standards. Enemies have resistances. Strategies are required. Expecting people to meet those standards is not elitism.

    What you mean this?

That doesn't show you the cp I'm talking about. If you are running mods and you hit alt modders can see total cp numbers instead of just vague indications of weak/awful/boss/ext.

And yeah...a lot of the players who cry elitism are those that can't be hassled to progress and complain incessantly about what they don't have instead of working hard to get the things they want. They moan and complain and claim unfairness. I like to refer to them as liberal players. :smirk:

I can fix that dismal jousting record of yours; but you'd need to take lessons from a Socialist. XD

I'll do jousting when they make it worth it to do.
Otherwise it's a really redundant rock paper scissors game, and you know it. :smirk:

It has similarities but it does have strategies unlike RPS, which is only luck and psychology. I figured offering to help would give you that "home schooling" environment you're familiar with.

Helsa, literally all you do is guess what the other pedrson is going to do. IT'S JUST ROCK PAPER SCISSORS.
    tHeRe Is No StAtEdGy! :joy:

RIP thread, this is going to become a thread about jousting. FML.

In RPS all choices are available to you and all choices are the same. This is not the case in jousting. After the first pass not all choices are available to you and not all choices are the same. Yes, you do try to guess what your opponent will do, but you do the same in sports. Even ones you'd be familiar with like: NASCAR, football, bass fishing, possum huntin', and bar fights. There's strategy in them. There's strategy in Jousting. Case in point, on Nao recently there was a GM sponsored jousting tournament. I went to watch. It was all folks that have never been to the finals except for one guy who is ranked number two on the Nao jousting ladder. Care to guess who won? It wasn't luck; they knew what they were doing. In RPS there are no poor choices, just unlucky ones. In jousting there are poor choices.

That happens to Pacman a lot; eat too many ghosts and you end up barfing them up!
