Can Milletians Get Pregnant?
Comments
It makes sense, if you're worried about whom your children may come across, on line, why not be there with them?
One of those bodies would prob have a child not born yet (if you think the Milletian would wait that long enough to give birth) Because Milletians age much faster.
Although I doubt they can give birth, because Morrighan prob took this into account since she feared us.
Wait wait
Millia was born in a post-Milletian world. She was just a baby when Gael died, which was after Ruairi and Tarlach met up again, years after we've had all kinds of adventures involving the both of them.
Oof, forgot all about Millia. But is there anyone else?
Worms'll eat 'em like they do everyone else.
Wot about em bones? Would this explain why we see so many undead at rabbie dungeon?
Nao absorbs everything.
So, the main points brought up in this thread:
Would Milletians be Sterile?
Most likely no. The reasoning behind this is that every Milletian is given a healthy body so they can fight. Remember, Milletians weren't brought here to just enjoy life and have fun. They were brought in to help fight against Fomors and save the world for the goddess. I doubt she would decide to snip them randomly- because as shown in later Generations, they were brought in with the capacity to overwhelm gods innately in them and this flips out the gods so much they think they should get rid of all of them.
What happens to a Milletian's old body after rebirth?
Y...y'all realize that the bodies return to the Soul Stream right? You have to go into the Soul Stream to Rebirth. Furthermore, it's heavily implied Milletian bodies are similar to the Added Soul Phenomenon seen in G1. They're spirits made flesh. Furthermore, Rebirth isn't jut "dumping" your old body. It's most likely the spirit changing the body- something that can only happen in the Soul Stream due to the Added Soul Phenomenon that occurs there. And lets say it was just dumping your old body and moving to a next, it would probably remain in the Soul Stream and return to whatever magical energy it took to make it in the first place- since remember Milletians aren't born. They're spirits from other worlds given flesh by Nao and the Goddess' magic.
Could a Milletian get prego with other races?
Honestly, probably. Let's be real, they're made of magic and have the ability to change their appearances. Even though we can't switch between races, there are NPC milletians who have- Shakespeare in example. However, the child would most likely be of one race or the other with small features of another. Uh as for those with Giant fathers.... well, chihuahuas have mated with larger dogs before and they were fine. Milletians are probably stronger than chihuahuas.
What happens to a pregnancy during rebirth!?
One of two things, either it terminates because #newbodnewme or because rebirthing is hinted to be the soul remaking itself, it's possible the fetus would remain as the Milletian would just form the new body around the baby. As for gender swapping, it would most likely just terminate the pregnancy because there would be nowhere for it to actually be.
WHAT ABOUT LITTLE ORPHAN ALYN!?
Honestly, she was probably brought into the Soul Stream at a very young age and was adopted by native parents who couldn't handle raising a Milletian. Furthermore, we've never really seen parents just "abandon" their child- not really. Any story orphans are generally orphans due to something like the Tragedy of Emain Macha- aka their parents were killed. And it is stated in the event that she abandoned by choice, not by tragic death. This implies it's not really something that happens often unless there are drastic reasons. Furthermore, the fact that you, the literal super savior of the world was asked for advice regarding this issue kind of further points to the fact that natives of Erinn don't really deal with this normally.
This implies that either A) Her adoptive parents were natives who couldn't handle a milletian child suddenly growing to fast or Her adoptive parents were milletians who just didn't want to deal with the kid after taking her in
What would a Milletian's child even be?
Tuatha de Danann. A native because their soul is from this world- not another like a milletian's. They would age like any other native NPC. Which would be pretty heckin' tragic.
What would happen to the kid?
Honestly, probably a confusing childhood while constantly forgetting their milletian parent(s). Imagine growing up and your parent constantly changed age and could be younger than you after a certain point. Furthermore, because milletian's perceive time so much faster than natives... uh 52 years for the milletian parent would pass and it'd only be one year for the child. Remember 1 week is 1 year for a milletian while time passes as it does IRL for the natives. So from birth to the age of 18... it would seem like around 1,000 years to a milletian. Finally, it'd be tragic as hell because natives just can't remember milletians due to how fast they move through time and the nature of their souls. It's a phenomenon that's noticed and even studied in the game lore. This is why NPCs constantly forget us and we have to give them more gifts.
So... in conclusion?
Yeah... a milletian could probably have a kid but it'd flippin' suck.
To the dogs go the bones.
A lot of well-thought out logic here, which in turn, makes me skeptical.
hm?
Take into account, however, that the whole 'forgetting the milletian' thing seems to be retconned without being mentioned, as pretty much all quest related npcs seem to remember the milletian so the lore behind that is honestly very questionable. I get that a lot of people want that to be an actual factor but at this point devkitty seems to believe it's just too hard to write a story where you're forgotten about each subsequent generation later.
Moreover I doubt Nao would allow such tragedies to occur as she cares very much for her flock. Thus why I think she wouldn't necessarily allow milletians pregnancies or, at the very least, without heavy monitoring on her end. I do agree such children would not be milletians, but the fact they're technically classed as either a type of 'spirit' or 'undead/revenant' due to the fact they are, as quoted spirits give loosely tied bodies makes me very skeptical of being able to reproduce. I do agree alyn was likely a milletian given to parents who, honestly, had no idea how to raise someone. As for millia i'm just going to say the storyline for saga is a big hot mess, so it may be that the writers forgot to take timeline into account when writing her story. (This is hardly the first time the story has contradicted itself.)
my main reason for milletians not being able to reproduce is still that we would be at triple the milletian count that right now if that were true, or at the very least we'd see a huge boom in baby tuatha de danann with orphanages being filled to the brim if such a thing were to occur. Milletians filter in naturally because Nao allows them. It's not necessarily the number of milletians that frightened the gods - numbers don't count when you can spam fireball at enemies - but the fact that they have a seemingly limitless potential for power. That is the point of the current generation - that due to the presence of milletians/The Milletian, hymerark now has to ramp things up to 11. It also makes them ideal bodies for greater beings to take control of, such as when Talvish tried to use us as a vessel for the Otherworldly God and why Tani is now selected as a vessel for Hymerark.
In the end, however, we won't really know until Devkitty gives us a solid response in-game or during an interview/Q&A so it's honestly up to each persons individual headcanon.
I believe Milletians are unable to have children... at least not in a traditional way.
Anything that involves a giant male that isn't a giant female would... uh... probably destroy... you should get that point.
Anything that involves a giant female that isn't a giant male would involved crushed pelvises.
Any pregnancies involving the Elves and Humans under age 17 would just want the Mabinogi FBI to open up. Unless I'm going in to factor the medieval age of consent.
Cowboy'd take care of that.
That's a good point. Since adult age characters can marry 10-year-olds, in this game, I'd say not only can they not get pregnant but that they can't even ... uh ... try to. The only things you're left with are dancing and knocking each other unconscious, to be sure, both of which can be the first part of getting pregnant but that, all important, second part is a no go.
Giant Male: Once I go in, you going to need a wheelchair.
(later)
Human Male: Why are you in a wheelchair?
*The elf and Human females looks at the Giant male, who walks nearby,*
Elf/Human Female: I fell.
Giant Female: Time for SNU SNU.
Human Male: Yes!
Elf Male: *Disappointment sounds*
Human Male: What are you, ***?
Anyways, even if there would be "Pregnancies" Mabinogi would get an age up rating. If you REALLY want pregnancies, Then there's the option to ask one of those Koikatsu users to make your character for a scene to get a NPC pregnant... assuming that the NPC exists as a card.
That is what I shall conclude.
