Add Linux + MacOS Support
Please add support for Linux/MacOS to Mabinogi.
It seems the game is quite close to running on Linux, with the only issue being the anti-cheat not being compatible. There are several other anti cheats available that work on Linux. I would like to be able to play on Steam Deck or to boot Linux on my laptop and play Mabinogi, Proton is almost enough aside from the Anti-Cheat problem.
MacOS support would also be nice. Proton/DXVK + MoltenVK might work.
EDIT: As of 2025, seems like the game works on Proton(with the right settings) but has quite a few glitches with multi monitor support on Wayland. Not sure if it works via the Steam launcher but I was able to get it to work using Bottles after fiddling with settings.

Comments
Either they would need to port the game and maintain it, which means hiring a team dedicated to that, or they would need to find a commercial emulator to partner with; playing nice with freeware emulators isn't gonna happen.
Related discussion from like half a decade here but they wouldn't need to port the game at all for x86-64 Linux and MacOS (non-ARM based) platforms. It's really just the anti-cheat at this point.
It's a pretty simple process to anyone that can operate a computer past surface level. Although I agree I'd rather not have to use workarounds, just let me run this thing natively.
Game doesn't have any issue with Anti-Cheat currently in proton, this much works fine.
Game does run in proton now as of 2025, I have personally confirmed. There are just a few glitches here and there that aren't a problem in the windows version. For example, the game will only render on the main display and you get a white screen if you move it to another display.
Still though I do hope for an official update to allow full Linux support just to be sure. I really don't want them to stay exclusive on windows especially windows 11 if the OS is going where I think it's going...
