    Would you look at this
people starting off by saying "I found it funny" to mask how triggered they are to the point they have to start a thread about it.

Ruairi is pronounced "Rory"? Well, now I know what I'd name my first born son: First name Ruairi, middle name Sean. Pronunciation headaches for DAYS for all of his future teachers and employers... B)

Is a Goidelic (Irish or Scottish Gaelic) masculine given name. It translates as “red king”. Its Gaelic pronunciation is 'roo-ree' or 'roo-ah-ree', with emphasis on the first syllable. In English, it is typically pronounced as Rory or Roo-ray.

    So I'll go for the 'roo-ah-ree' (/Ru-Ai-Ri?).

You are correct. The Correct pronunciation of the Gaelic Name Ruairi still has the 'ah' sound in the middle of it.
It is not "Ror-Ry", its more like "Rua-ry" or "Roo-ry".

"Rory" is actually the Anglicization of the Gaelic word Ruairi.
Anglicization: Giving it English characteristics to words of a foreign words, names and phrases to make them easier to spell, pronounce, or understand in English.

This, I get bit of weird accent from talking (due to being deaf in real life) but I still pronounce it kinda like rua-ry, so...

Also, forget Fashionogi. The newest trend is Linguistinogi. If you're still dyeing/collecting clothes instead of debating the proper pronunciations of the names of various characters in the game, you're playing wrong.

A crumbling potato named Rhey. Rhey, why did you not tell me this? I could have gone to a different patch.

What a heartbreaking thread. I had always pronounced it as "raw-ee-ree". My precious memories, they're tainted. :(

The Korean Hangul for Ruairi is 루에리.
    루에리 sounded out is "R-oo-ae-ree".
    Take that however you'd like.

    Yeah it's similar to katakana.

Lets not forget that even though it's an anime game that it's based off of Celtic mythology.

Aodhan's name in Hangul is 아이던 (Ah-ee-dawn). Tir Chonaill is 티르코네일 (T-ee-r k-o-nae-eel). They are written as they are pronounced. Hangul isn't like English in that one character could make 50 different sounds. If Ruairi was pronounced like Rory, they'd spell it '로리', which they intentionally did not. If you are saying that the original Korean creators of Mabinogi spelled their names wrong in Hangul, fine. But I'm pronouncing Ruairi as Roo-ae-ree, as that's the way the original Mabinogi creators wanted it to be read~

Oh, and all this time I'd been pronouncing his name like "Roo" "Eiry".

This is like learning how "Math" dungeon is actually pronounced.
Or that "Pihne" is more like fee-nay.
    Or that "Samhain" is "sah-WIN"!

    How about Sidhe Finnachaid?

I've been pronouncing it like "Shee Pinaha", since I was told a while back the "Sidhe" is pronounced kinda like "shee" and "Pinaha" because... that's kinda how it was phonetically pronounced in the KR version.
