As summer of 2017 is coming closer to ending, I'm sure Nexon and the creators of Mabinogi already have ideas for gachas set in stone months in advance. But this idea is for next year, something that will make a lot of us ladies and some of the men folk go SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I was pursuing the internets as I like to do and stumbled upon the dress pictured above on a fashion website. I thought, "well this is the start of an idea!" It's a beautiful dress with butterfly detailing and a cute black bodice and off the shoulder sleeves to bring it all together.

The idea I have is, the dress, some wings, shoes and an antenna hair piece as the main items in the gacha. Of course the wings as they are a hot commodity in Mabi, they'd be a random item in the gacha. Weapons, dyes, accessories, and other bits and bobs to complete the gacha, perhaps a pet butterfly would be pretty awesome as a gacha. Of course, the men folk will get a men's butterfly outfit too! Our characters, as cute as they are already would look pretty damn adorable dressed up like human/butterfly hybrids!

Of course this is just an idea. But I hope nexon and Mabi creators take a look and see if they can put something like this together.

I think one of the issues here is that picture has to be self made.

if you ask me, it looks like some items that already exist in game, and aren't even gacha items.. specifically, the succubus queen full or half bodywear.

Someone on facebook mentioned it looks similar to the succubus queen dress. The dress design itself isn't what the final product necessarily HAS to look like. It's the start of an idea to be honest. There's many different types of dress shapes to choose from.

This is a screenshot of a photograph of an existing item of clothing, copying it outright and putting it in the game would be plagiarism that could get nexon into legal trouble. Even entering it into a rare Mabinogi clothing design contest might get you into trouble if you use too much inspiration from an existing design that you don't own.
While the design of the dress is cute and definitely a nice looking outfit, there's an outfit in the game called the Butterfly Dress that looks fairly similar already. http://wiki.mabi.world/view/Butterfly_Dress
though the poorly dyed outfit on the wiki doesn't do the dress justice at all...

I would say, wait until Devcat and Nexon have another Mabinogi clothing design contest and try to enter a design then, since that's pretty much the only time they accept player designed clothing.

As Giegue said, there could be the issue of copyright by copying the dress design from a particular company. However, there could also be trouble coming from the photographer who took the picture as well.
