If you were able to play once,... it could be an in-game-setting related issue. ~ Your system doesn't like something it was told to do.

If you enabled something your card cannot handle properly; it could prevent you from loading up the game until it's been disabled.

Locate and run (double-click-on) this file: .. *\mabinogi\appdata\default.reg        (screenshot)

On the warning prompt about making changes to the System Registry; Press Yes.

This returns the in-game-settings to their default state (try again afterwards).

You may also want to uninstall the game and perform a fresh-install, sometimes corrupted-data occurs that prevents the program from opening back up. I've had to do this a handful of times since I first joined the game, although I warn if this begins happening with great-regularity that you might be facing a dying hard-drive. Either way, I wish you the best of luck with getting Mabinogi back up and running.

I've only seen this with very elderly systems.

    Long ago I played Mabi on a P3/700running W2K..
Now? haha! Two gig vid-card, etc...

So the suggestions to reinstall and make sure the video settings are not too much for whatever card is stuffed in said lappy are very valid.

You can see this on a brand new system, right now. ~ All you have to do is choose a setting (in the game) not supported by your graphics card.

You won't always disconnect immediately after making a change like this, but, you won't be able to reload the game properly until it's undone.

    That's the purpose of running default.reg :)
