I think it's after like 5 hours of being alive that monsters have a chance to turn ancient, and it's just a chance so its probably coincidental that 4 of them turned ancient, and if it was a lowly populated channel, or at night time, I wouldn't doubt that they had time to turn ancient before you found them.

You haven't yet said what Server you hail from, or which Channel this was, both of which still remain pertinent info.

    Yeah what Clovis15 said.

Also thanks for making this thread. We really miss "Game is dead/Server Merge" type of thread. Was actually worried about it, it is our tradition to post about this at least once a month.

We need someone to make and give out a 'Chicken Little' badge for posts like this.

You're right, we do seem to have a lower active population.
Mabinogi is probably less popular now than 7 years ago.
That's probably why almost all of our sales nowadays are gachapons for the whales.

See you in a month, thread... ol' buddy ol' pal.

No, I see a hoard of Brown Foxes including four Ancients about to maul a ten-year old child.

You really should not left your riverside home. You knew about the dangers out there, didn't you?

I'm gonna keep saying thing as I have before
    March 2018 412.7 +18.7 +4.75% 714

    Compared to
    December 2013 333.6 +23.6 +7.63% 662
    November 2013 310.0 +89.5 +40.62% 730
    October 2013 220.4 -37.8 -14.62% 630
    September 2013 258.2 -103.6 -28.63% 656
    August 2013 361.8 +39.8 +12.35% 819
    July 2013 322.0 -42.8 -11.73% 601
    June 2013 364.8 -5.9 -1.60% 708
    May 2013 370.8 +17.3 +4.90% 703
    April 2013 353.4 +112.7 +46.84% 829
    March 2013 240.7 +11.7 +5.09% 662
    February 2013 229.0 -76.3 -24.99% 568
    January 2013 305.3 +63.0 +26.02% 703

First number is average players, followed by growth compared to last month, then that same growth in a percent and lastly peak players. Sorry it's a little jank to read but I'm on mobile and can't screenshot it. This is one of the only accurate sources of player count, we have a general growth in playerbase since 2013/14.

I would consider 8:00 AM on a Sunday to be an off time. Most people I know who would be on at that time would rather be doing events or dailies anyway instead of punching out foxes first thing upon logging in. The rest are either sleeping in, going to church irl, or have family obligations on a Sunday.

I went to brunch and ate enough for 3 people. I accomplished things.

I've posted this before and the only retort I've had is "But the bots!1!!!111!!!@"
When aside from shop bots, there's less bots overall because I haven't seen a commerce bot in ages.

Compared to 10 years ago, the "world" is much larger, and there are better ways for a new player to get fast exp than by grinding foxes in/around Tir.

Hmm, is that from steam ?
400 people for 4 server or average 100 people per server.

    Still kinda sad.

So one thing to note that's ONLY steam, and I'd say the majority of players aren't on steam.

Except noobs cant run dungeons like Barri like we could 10 years ago.

Goblins have about 3000hp since the revamp which was the beginning of the decline

There are options other than dungeon crawling.
For example~ Grinding even lower level Iria mobs is more productive, both in Exp and drops, than what I had to go through long ago.
Some players also "want to see the world", not waste their time running around Tir.
They are not going to hang around 'the noob village', especially when the game all but encourages them to explore.

It's nostalgic to look back when all our game world was encompassed by a couple small areas and you saw Tir full of life, but just because you found a few ancient mobs does not mean the game is "in Trouble".
