I started way back in 2008 on the first day the game opened after the betas ended. There was nothing else like it that gave you complete freedom on how you wanted to develop your character (there still isn't) and I got hooked right away.

100/50; if I get an elite pass for Nowhere to Run/Gatekeeper I'll use that to get to 150.
I don't rebirth often anymore, though; my main and oldest character literally needs no further AP to max out what few skills are left to rank up.
The doppleganger fight was probably the least frustrating part for me. I just assumed it was like Shadow Cast City; kill the copies or you can't do damage (they're actually the biggest threat, the 'real' one's alchemy attacks are just a nuisance).

Maybe it was just me being near maxed with 19k total levels and almost every skill capped, but I didn't have too much trouble surviving the last Hasidim battle; I could tank his double rush with Mana Shield a couple times before having to chug potio…

You can go from 1 to 50 with about 42 sketches if you have rank 1 Exploration Mastery.
At this late stage of the game's life cycle I can't think of many good reasons not to give genuine newcomers a bigger boost.
