Yeah! Personally, I wasn't even thinking of Pokemon when I saw the puppets. I'm like woooooah Elementals...! =D
Oh definitely! I thought about Pokemon, but I also immediately thought about The Rune Factory series. They have the elemental creatures too. I forgot what they called them.
But elemental seem to be a really common theme in a lot of games. And even in a lot of myth stories too.
I don't want the streams to end. They give out free stuff, it's nice to see a showcase of future content, and it's kind of nice to see the GMs just being human instead of hidden behind the scenes all the time.
I don't see Defense skill, so it looks like you have to tank hits instead of using strategy. Dying outfits also looks more limited, you don't get to select from a palette it's just straight random (at least with reg dyes, you could approximate an area filled with acceptable colors). I also see level tags on items, which probably means you have to be a certain level to use certain weapons and items (ugh).
Plus, it seems like most of the pets are just for travel and not for fighting, with only the small fairies as exceptions. The gameplay is also terribly simple and does not appear to allow dual skill classes (in other words, you can only use fighter skills with swords and can't cast icebolt or anything). The amount of skills available also looks severely limited (probably because you can only fit so many buttons on a phone).
I don't know. I don't like a lot of these gameplay changes, so literally the only nice thing going for it is the graphics. But the freedom is just not there. It also even looks like different clothing has different stats; if that's true, you'll be pushed to wear whatever is best for your level.
To add onto the comments about customization, I want to talk about weapons and armor. There are a lot of MMOs which require you to be a certain level in order to wear a certain armor or wield a certain weapon. If you happen to fall in love with the look of an "inferior" armor set, you aren't necessarily banned from wearing it but you'll be at a disadvantage in combat unless you equip something from "your level".
Mabi doesn't do that. With the exception of demonic weapons, you aren't really prevented from equipping armor or swords based on your Talent/Cumulative level. What's even more, most of the heavy armor in the game has all of the same stats (with exceptions such as handcrafted armor and such), and most of the light armor has all of the same stats too. So you can pick and choose what you want to wear with a wide variety of style options, and you don't necessarily have to be stuck with a single armor set that you dislike just because it's tailored for your level's stats.
As someone who synthesizes clovers on Saturdays, I need Leather Strap Pouches and Braid Pouches.
However, Tough Thread Pouches and Tough String Pouches would be nice to have, too.
A clover pouch would be nice too, although I guess clovers aren't technically weaving. I know we have the herb bag (buyable from commerce) but clovers are extra irritating in that they don't stack at ALL.
