Hello again everyone! I want to start this by saying that I believe giant shoulder riding is part of the holy trinity of Mabi social features. As far as I'm concerned Mabi has 3 main social features. First and holiest being music, second being PVP, third being shoulder rides.
Just imagine for a second that giants and elves couldn't do a freestyle jam together! It would leave at least 1/3rd of the Mabi population out of one of the single-handed best social features in the entire game! That is exactly what's happening here though. Elves have been completely left out of that side.
I know it can be easy to say "Just make a new character" but this is Mabinogi!! This is one of the only games I've ever played that doesn't REQUIRE you to have an alt, and instead (for the most part) focuses on the "main character". This is probably one of the only aspects of the game where you're forced to start a new character if you want to marry who you want.
I remember a time when same sex marriage was illegal too! I remember in order to marry another woman, you'd have to RB into a male character, get married, then rebirth back to a female character. AND THEN THEY FIXED IT, and now you can just marry whatever gender you want to marry regardless of your own. The only difference I'm seeing here between elf and giant marriage, and same sex marriage, is AT LEAST there was still technically a way to get around it.
With elf and giant marriage we as players are forced to abandon all our hard work in order to be with the one we love! The feature is already available in KR and has been since March! Now I know we're about 6 months behind Korea, which means that we still have 2 months before we'll know for sure whether or not we actually get it as a feature, so I'mma try to be patient but please Nexon end this discrimination, intolerance, and racism! Legalize love, and make Mabinogi a place of love and tolerance!

Not saying people don't want it. Saying that a feature that has little to no impact on most people's gameplay isn't all that important when you have things like a broken and an incompletable tutorial need to be addressed. Or error messages that are useless because the localization team was to busy to translate them. Quests that require the use of the wiki so to bugs or not actually explaining what needs to be done.
Depends on what kind of player you are. A lot of people play specifically for the social aspect, and those players would be impacted by the change. I know I'd certainly be happy about it lol. Remember, just because it doesn't mean anything to do, doesn't mean it doesn't mean anything to anybody else. I'm sure everyone has like a "dream update" that they'd like to see come before all others, and this just happens to be mine.
I mean... why would you be an elf in the first place?
I got that need for speed!
Then why would you want to ride on a giant?
Because giant rides are one of the most fun social aspects of this game and I don't want to forever miss out on it. As far as speed I really only NEED my speed during content.
Now one could play on a human every time they want to ride on a giant, but I'm very forgetful always end up forgetting stuff on my human so there's just too much back and forth it gets so annoying.
Think about it tho, how many times have the giants and elves worked together, and how many times have us milletians saved the world? Yet we still can't just marry whoever we want? It's G25 guys, we need to get WOKE lol
I know I'm not the only one here who thinks it's a long passed overdue update. Long we have had to live with the prejudices of our forefathers, but no more! I propose that elves and giants should be allowed to marry, and have shoulder rides. Especially considering they've already illustrated that the possiblility exists as shown here.
Please don't let this intolerance continue. We're all here on Erinn together, and should be able to love who we love! ♥
