  • Security Suggestions for the Auction system

The auction system, the way it's currently set up will allow for bots to abuse it en masse. The most obvious route they will take is to sell cash shop items (Which they do already in belvast) by the truckloads on the auction system without any sort of hindrance.

Here are some ideas though to prevent abuse of the auction system (Some people may not like this idea).

    1) For accounts created after 2017, or after the implimentation of the Lorna and Pan tuitorial questline, have them complete the short questline to enable the use of the auction board.
    - This makes it harder for botters, and other players abusing macros and bots to gain entry into the auction system to abuse it.

    2) Remove Cash items with a 1-time trade, this means items like Enchant protection potions, repair potions, reforges, nao stones, anything with a 1-time trade. Players could still trade them without the auction board, but this also prevents the anonymously abusive bots/players from freely exploiting the system.

    3) Allow display of usernames and a function to report suspected botters in the Auction system.
    - Anyone can sell anything right now, and you wouldn't even know who it was. It could even be someone who stole something from you, or someone obtaining items illegally. Displaying usernames is a given since every other trade function has it in mabi.

I would like to emphasize that botting is a HUGE issue with auction boards. Other MMO's like Vindictus, Dungeon Fighter online, Tera, and any other MMO has implemented huge regulations on using auctioning boards like lengthy questline completions or level requirements that botters never manually want to obtain. As it stands right now, I can see that the auctioning system will absolutely be abused and exploited given it's non-existent security against botters.

As well, with the above changes, it shouldn't generally effect anyone who has been playing long enough, or completed the new tutorial or any generation quest. As a result the "Market damage" will be very minimal given if people put the minimal effort into playing mabi.

  • [FIXED] Auction House Crashing

It also helps to open up a text program like notepad, type the item's name in notepad, and copy/paste it into the auction searchbar to avoid lag.

The reason why the lag occures is that if you manually search an item, the first letter you type brings up hundreds of item results which can overload the client and crash it.

  • Multi-clienters ruining/abusing events

You get like 6 free character cards per account, that's hardly a very valid excuse for some people to have almost 200 individual accounts for hoarding limited event items that sell for millions of gold to get ahead via cheating.

  • Multi-clienters ruining/abusing events

I get people are desperate for good things because the RNG sucks, but making 200 alternate accounts to suck up every last prize is a whole other story. That just drives it to become virtually impossible to get anything from these events at all while a cheater is dancing around with 3 of every wing, 5 celtic chain blades, hundreds of premium consumables, and etc.

It's just wrong, and it needs to stop.

idk why people are even surprised that the festia wings were gone within an hour.... most players (like me) had over 300 coins saved up to throw at that machine the instant the servers went up. and most payers (like me) walked away with something like 100 gift boxes and 70 prof hammers and 100-some full recovery pots. Obviously the 3 lucky people would eventually win the wings they had saved their coins 3 weeks for. You should not be surprised AT ALL that they were gone so fast, and you can't just make up some bullcrap about 'hundreds of alts' just because they were gone so fast. Hell, the gold prize festia wings are STILL at 0/2 in Mari so these hundreds of alts aren't trying very hard are they? :P Conspiracy Theory, much? I feel like I just read a thread by the Alex Jones of Mabinogi XD

At this point it's just FUD. Even in alexina almost all the gold rewards are still up. I had ~200 coins myself saved and blew them all as soon as the servers came up. I don't think anyone would bother putting in the effort of making the claimed 100 alts for a set of festia wings.

Also for the dungeon thing, AAHM is pointless to run unless you have 4 people. I do think this should be changed.

It's not FUD when you got people bragging about making 100~200 alts in the discord channel, showing off their 200 something rebirth potions, and showing pics of their army of alts surrounding the festia draw machine, and other npc's like the sweeper event npc.
