  • Forced Solo Memory Dungeons need to be removed

Parts of the game being solo content is due to context. I mean, you sort of said it yourself...
"But Memory dungeons help tell the story from another point of view" I hear you say. How? How does being forced to play an under equipped, under leveled, under talented character that isn't your own, possibly help with the story? You just crawled through the dungeon. You could have done that on your own character. You would have still run the dungeon which ultimately is just a time sink. Unless there is a cut scene, you running a dungeon as anyone other than your own character is meaningless from a narrative point of view. And even then you could just put in a cut scene and bypass the dungeon all together!

Unless you understand the context of the story different points of view, it's going to be very one-sided and you won't understand why certain events happened or why certain characters are the way they are. It may sound boring, but think of it this way: it is a challenge for you to find a way to be able to fight outside your comfort zone, which is a problem for a lot of traditional "spec-locked" MMOs. You're normally a ranger? Ok, what if your bows died due to forgetting to be fixed and you only have melee weapons left while in the middle of a dungeon? Again, just think of it as minor challenge instead of plowing through everything just for the sake of getting it done.

To he honest, the solo dungeons are just fine, until you get to things like G19 and G20 (And I'm a vet player who actually had a few issues completing these two generations). That's when the solo stuff gets pretty intense, but that's under assumption that you have done the previous generations to pick up skills/items that are only obtained through generation quests. You have to bear in mind that even as an MMO, almost all stories revolve around one particular 'hero', or even a group of heroes, who do quests, thwart evil, and ultimately save the world. This is pretty much how it is for almost every MMORPG out there. Even WoW still does this for some of their quests, and no one's complaining because it's TEMPORARY, and probably only even done once, which is the general rule for almost all generation quests (Some side quests can be unlocked and done as dailies, but they are usually just "fetch quests"). There are times that there are limitations to simulation the situation for the story, which shouldn't be a problem for most players who are pretty versatile and know techniques within the game to help compensate for the lack of power/gear of the RP character you are 'forced' to play with.

To put it bluntly: NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO PLAY THE GAME SOLO OR IN A GROUP. It is only certain aspects that are solo while others may be party, but that will be based on the content and context of how it is being presented. Trust me, I played with my sister as well when I was pretty active, but both of us knew that there are some things that are solo, but I can support her in different ways, either as a remote reviver if she accidentally dies in a dungeon and I can't reach her, or even fight alongside her if it is possible (Especially during G9 to G12 since I got Royal Alchemist status to help bounce her along the storylines on her squishy elf).

Besides, while there are solo storyline aspects, the rest of the game is pretty much open to both solo and party play, whether you're running around, doing dungeons, exploring, working on life skills, or just hanging around in town.

Are there any tips for catching him or is it really all just luck?

It's really more or less luck on if and when it will bite... X_x

  • Full party dungeon drops vs old 3-person dungeons'

If you run with 2 or 3 players, you should get the same boss as a for 3 pass, though, I think.

For the Spider Boss that drops the AR page (I do believe you're referring to AR7 [Giant White] or AR8 [Giant Red]), you do need to drop in with 4 players. Now, I'm not sure if it has to be four players when you open the boss or if it can be just a 4-player drop and everyone else can leave. I do believe that for Two/Three players, the boss is the Gorgon (x5) and Lycanthrope (x2), but since the Wiki Page hasn't been fully updated, I'd have to do a couple test runs myself and see if I can help correct the information.

As for the Hellhound Skull, I have gotten that solo. Barri I did those in both groups and solo, but that was with the old passes.

  • Bringing Back Memorable Pets/Mounts

I know there have been discussions of specific pets and mounts, but this topic is going to be covering pets and mounts as a whole. So be it an older player from the days of G1 or a new player starting in G20, I just wanted to open a discussion to pets and possibly bringing them back for limited amounts of time.

Being an older player who started from the days of G2S3, I'm sad that Nexon did a huge pet/mount purge from their shop. While I do like the new mounts with their fancy AoE effects, I really do miss the simple pets, like the Gray Wolf, Falcon, Black Lab, Retriever, Samoyed, and Jindo (And I know the Crow is a big one that everyone has been talking about lately as well!!!). Some had large inventories, like the Snowy Owl, and some were just beastly leveling partners perfect for beginners, like the Dalmatian or any of the other dogs for that matter. I remember that most of the time, pets were bought mostly for inventory, movement, or just because they look great.

One that I am very sad about them pulling out are the transformation pets, the Siberian Husky, Borzoi, and Greyhound for Paladins and the Bengal, Siamese, and Bombay for Dark Knights. I know the Siberian was a limited and one of the cats were as well (Think it was the Bengal), but it would be nice if at least one of each stayed in the shop for new human players (Or at least have a questline in-game to obtain one, one per account, of course). I'm actually a bit surprised that the Elves and Giant didn't have a pet equivalent, perhaps a bird of prey for elves and a bear or some large beast for giants. Oh, can't forget the Persian, Black Wolf, and Hamster, which transformed into their were-forms under certain conditions (think it's day for Persians, night for Black Wolves, and hunger above 90% for Hamsters).

The mounts are also some of the really memorable ones, especially the limited ones like the Thunderbird (Released back in G4), Griffin (I want to say G11 or G12 for these majestic eagle lions), Snow Tiger and Bengal Tiger (The first battle mounts introduced into the game that players can use to fight while mounted), Phoenix (The original one from the Cash Shop, though if I'm not mistaken, a Diamond Phoenix is set to be released some time in the future for us?), the Alaskan Husky and Malamute (Think these guys were also released around the Iria Era and allowed for travel on snow), and the Two-Seater Thunder Dragon (Great for companion trips, and not to mention the amusing animation for the passenger when in flight... XD). I also miss the Halfinger horse mount. It actually looked pretty cute when standing next to the Thoroughbred and the two-rider black Shire.

I know there are a ton more that I missed, and while an event might have occurred while I was on my hiatus (Left 2015 and came back only recently), it would be nice to see a classic pet revival event just for nostalgia sake, and to show those who started post-G12 some of the cooler, ordinary pets we worked with when the pet system was just starting to be introduced.

So, what other pets do you miss from the days of old, and maybe wish to see purchasable again (and I don't mean from other players via Pet Charms)?

I, for one, would love to see the Paladin/Dark Knight transformation pets make a comeback, and especially the Griffins and other smaller, non-AoE pets like the Hedgehogs and definitely the sprites (Somehow, I remember having a sprite, but I don't see it in my pet list anymore... Wondering if I re-birthed it sometime in the past...).

A link to the list pets that were released for Mabi on Mabinogi World Wiki (NA and Overseas) for reference.
