Old player, since 2008. I wasn't accepted into beta but I have been around that long. I continue to contribute to these forums because sometimes when you do google inquiries old threads pop up. That is why these forums are still relevant and still provide answers to players searching for things. I am one of the few lingering spirits of the forums.
Well the forums are unfortunately not the best place to meet or talk to players. This forum is like 90% dead (your thread went unanswered for 5 days is indicative of this). There is an official discord for Mabinogi that has a lot of resources and hopefully helpful players/members on there. I try not to rely on it because it's easy to get ignored, your best bet would be to join an active guild that can show you the ropes. I also recommend talking to Blaanid and completing her quests because that can help you get some serious levels and AP. Not to mention teach you about the game and help you go through storyline content.
I have logged in after years of not being on Mabi again. Is it worth finishing the last quest in the Dark Knight questline to get Dark Knight if Paladin's have a reason to be relevant again? Should I try the new questline without finishing the Dark Knight?
Just stay paladin, with the recent Renovation 5 update Sword of Order actually slaps now.
With this Renovation Season 5 update Paladin is set to become relevant again after over a DECADE of it not being relevant. KR a LONG time ago allowed their players a one time thing where they could be allowed to switch back from Dark Knight to Paladin. I think we should be given that opportunity to because of this update.

Ok so Russia is a waaaaaaaaaaaay bigger region restriction. We're bound to have furious and confused players. A simple notice to Russian players does not explain actually why this is being done or even if it needs to be done at all (because Nexon has a history of being knee jerky). All they have is "In order to comply with regulations in Russia, Nexon America will be implementing restrictions affecting game access from Russia". But we don't know what regulations you are talking about, so lets create some dialog here and maybe it might help alleviate the confusion.
Because this sucks, I'm so sorry for Russian players. My guild officer is russian!
