If i'm not mistaken blue doesn't effect your magic damage at all so red is better regardless of where you character's strength level is at... if you're just worried about fighter damage its better to use different knuckles in the first place. If you're just trying to get the best fighter damage specifically using the mana knuckles blue wins out until you hit a certain max, even more so when compared to other knuckles since you only get one-handed crit bonus on mana knuckles.
