  • KR gets another VIP update...

Better hope this game gets another publisher then because nothing will change otherwise. NA Nexon has been doing this for the majority of this game's lifespan, and it isn't just Mabinogi. Nexon does this with ALL their games just milking them through gacha, while providing little to no viable (or at least long term) content or quality of life updates. This happens until the game is no longer financially beneficial enough to run or they somehow lose rights to the title, so no point in preaching to Nexon because all they care about is the whale money and if that cash flow ever stopped? They'll just drop this game like a cement block in the river.

Even if it were hypothetically possible for another publisher to take over the game it's not like there's any other F2P MMORPG publishers out there that are better. I mean hell even with how bad Nexon NA can be at least they're not Aeria Games! Aeria Games has published and driven so many MMOs into the ground over the years alongside being P2W to the extreme that it's beyond ridiculous.

Though as far as milking players through gachas goes, that's something found in just about every F2P MMORPG in existence. Given it's been proven to be a model that works for making companies tons of easy money. Sure it feels really scummy and frustrating from the point of view of a non-gacha spamming player. But from a business point of view it's pure genius. Given the number one thing all MMORPG publishers care about is making money. So if anything the blame really lies with the fact that there's people out there with way too much disposable income that enable these publishers to keep pushing gachas so hard. Since they wouldn't be doing it if it weren't so darn crazy profitable.

  • Stop giving us more wigs!! please

Well perhaps Nexon realized how bad of an idea it was to limit the options for new players so greatly and put it back. Either way point is according to the newbies I've spoken to recently they did get access to premium options with their first characters.

  • Do the majority of mabi players use mods?

Am I the only one who didn't know about mods until now?

I feel like that reaction was rather unnecessary. Since mods aren't allowed it's not like one would normally know of them unless they had seen someone else talking about them before.

  • Memento questions

I'm not fully convinced that they'll end up eventually putting such a thing into gachas. Since even after so many years they've yet to destroy the value of stuff like the Black/White Dragon equips or Celtic weapons by throwing them into gachas all the time like other certain gears in the game. So I would like to hope that they learned their lesson in the past and realized that constantly throwing current end-game stuff into gachas only just kills any reason to run the most recent content.

But there are mods simply to improve performance. Some people need them to properly run mabi. That's why I wish they would look into a couple of them and see what they can do to help people. I don't exactly see things like that as "cheating".

Yes, but a few require users to break the anti cheat programs Nexon uses now. Even if the effects are cosmetic, disabling the anti cheat programs is going to be seen as "cheating" to GMs.

Well if we're talking purely cosmetic stuff from what I know those don't even require disabling the anti-cheat programs. Now if we're talking game breaking cheating hacks like the kind that were found on that notorious den of hackers that we're not allowed to mention those would indeed require disabling the anti-cheat programs.
