A new engine would optimize the game better, better graphics or not you can't deny some parts of the game are severely unoptimized.
This. So much so. The game needs to be better optimised first and foremost.
As it is currently I have to have two fans and an air conditioner running in order for my laptop to even boot mabi without hitting the emergency shut off due to overheating
However I'm not completely unopposed to some new visual overhauls, but just like any modern game, visuals should always take a back seat to stability.
Doesn't matter how pretty your game is if it's chugging
As for personal modifications, wouldn't it be wiser for them to officially release older and unused assets to the public for the possibility of community revamping?
I know there are a few hairstyles that severely need an update, as they currently look like a blob sitting on your characters head that I'd personally work on improving.
Set a size limit to the custom textures and meshes, and seriously outsource all the hard work of a visual overhaul to the players themselves.
They would only need a brief review of the submissions to ensure they meet all regulations as well before making it a new official reskin
Multiple submissions could even be put to a community vote.
There wouldn't even need to be much more for rules that I can think of other than
1) No nudity is obviously a given
2) Reworked objects and items should be derivative of the origins, so no making an Edekai Priest Robe into a Ball Gown, or Dustin's Silver Knight Armor into Bikini Armor.
3) No updating/alteration of collaborated items without express permission from copyright holders
Personally, I think it would fix alot of these issues if when you bought a new cosmetic appearance it was actually bought, and not simply selected and paid for until something changes it. Maybe it's me, but when I pay for something I expect at least a feigned sense of object permanence
That way people are more likely to spend even more pon on buying all the available styles, instead of hoarding their pon exclusively for style tab.
The coupon limited styles should have a higher pon price than others based upon their higher detail and being the shiny new-ness
Coupons on the other hand should be renamed as Voucher and flat out purchase the new style on use, much like a gesture card
Would net Nexon a lump sum of pon purchases from just about every fashionogi out there as well, instead of the complete LACK of pon being spent on customisation at the moment
I think some people forget there's already skills in game that change your stance when using them
Rest skill gets a full override at r9, as well as different animations depending on clothing choices, I know I like the animation for Giants pre r9 more than post
Though would be nice if you could pick or cycle them as well as I know some players who refuse to rank it because they'd lose the specific animation they like
They could have easily slotted these new animations in with the previous update, Just gate them behind the required Weapon mastery skill
They wouldn't be biting into a semi-permanent dusty corner slot in everyones invy and I think it would be a show of good faith if they put in more cosmetic/convenience updates that aren't really making them cash
They already shown they can make "Manage" tabs for skills to change animations and effects with Dance of Death, why don't they ever expand upon what they already have?
It's not like people are rushing this gacha specifically for the new animations. Everyone I've asked is fashionogi fixated
