  • Mabinogi is getting Unreal Engine!

Korea is right; the game MUST modernise.

A update like this really is for the best long term. I seriously think if Mabinogi got a engine update like this it could put the game back on top as even a potential rival for FF14. This update gives me so much hope for the game. If this update goes right they could advertise Mabinogi on websites again, the forums could back to life, and we could even get to the point where we need to open up new servers!

I just never expected them to actually do this cause the it is going to be a lot of work and probably cost a ton of money. Please Nexon let this be real, I haven't been this surprised since finding out about the Iria Commerce Update. Literally couldn't even speak properly last night cause my brain was tripping over itself just thinking about this update.

  • Real-world In-game Advertising.

Personally I just want them to sell more mabi merch in their store. Sell Mabinogi shirts, hoodies, reusable shopping bags, hats, and face masks. Let the Mabinogi players advertise Mabinogi, I certainly would if merch like that was available. Online advertising might be tough as a lot of people use ad blocks now to avoid seeing most ads on the internet. Might be worth looking in to paying a massive youtuber to talk about Mabinogi for 5 minutes. As for stuff in stores yeah it might be cool to see a Mabinogi ad on a soda bottle or some frozen pizza box or something.

There are a number of ways they could advertise the game but I feel like it would more effective if the ad was something a hundred people walk by everyday or shown in a youtube video that gets a couple hundred thousand views. Still I think the lack of actual physical Mabinogi products is a problem. I would love to actually collect more Mabi Merch to support the game and make more people aware of the game by wearing Mabi Merch in irl locations. Plus what will we really have left if this wonderful game ever shuts down? Just some old screenshots and memories? That question actually got me more interested in finding more Mabinogi stuff to collect. I hope this game outlives me but if anything ever happens to it I would want actually remember it through more than just old screenshots sitting in a folder that you check once a year to remember the good old days.

... event held in Korea ...

    How's that gonna work? ...

I should have explained a bit better! @Negumiko was close - I will have my own translator with me LIVE during the stream so that we can bring as many specific details to the English audience in real time.
I know normally we have to wait for localization or for things to be translated through players when it comes to news, but I am happy to bring everything to us as fast as we can!

I'm excited to see y'all there, too! ❤

That sounds very interesting. I am really happy our communication with Mabi KR is improving so I would definitely like to see more of these types of streams in the future. A few NA players keep a close eye on the Korean site anyway to get info about future updates and gacha sales but their livestreams are a bit more difficult to watch even with English Closed Captions. So it is nice that the information about future content is being shared more openly by Nexon. Currently it feels like the NA players have to keep a eye on what is going on with Mabi KR to get a heads up on important update and to make sure we are actually getting what they got. I feel like there has been some trust issues between the Mabi NA players and Nexon KR over the years that makes some of us feel the need to keep a eye on what is going on over there. Things have luckily gotten a lot better in recent years I think as it feels like now they are a bit more open with us. Livestreams like this could be a big help so that is why I would love livestreams like this to become a normal thing for us.

Also Arcie, you are doing a incredible job as our CM. I am impressed with how far you go to really listen the community and all of our concerns. Getting a new CM probably always worries a lot of us at first and it can be a little tough getting used to the close-knit community here but you fit in here great. Keep up the great work! I hope you stay our CM for a long time!

  • Sweet Coffee Event: Consecutive Logins is unfun

I agree events like this can require a almost unrealistic level of effort at times. However at the same time I love the challenge and players that put more effort into the event and never missing a day should get more out of it. Easy fix to this is to just let us use pon to buy a consecutive login or a total login much like how the Irusan's Attendance Event lets you use pon to buy stamps for the days you missed.

I absolutely love this feedback! Thank you both for posting your thoughts regarding the Sweet Coffee Event!

Personally as a player, I can understand that keeping up with such daily consecutive tasks can feel incredibly taxing and difficult, especially when the real world happens. I personally agree with Loomiy's thoughts that it's fair to reward players that can dedicate the time to the event, but perhaps there are better and less punishing ways we can go about it in the future.

I'm curious to see how others feel about this topic as well! ❤ Thank y'all for this thread!

All players have very different lives based on where you live, weather, unpredictable irl events, and what we do for work. Some players are just stressed out students, some have long shifts at stressful jobs, and some work from home. It can feel a little to difficult if we have events where if we miss one day we don't get the prize we wanted from it. The Irusan's Attendance Event letting you buy additional stamps for days you missed with pon is the most fair solution I have seen so far. It doesn't overly punish players for missing days while still rewarding the players that make the effort to get perfect attendance. Also unrelated side note, it makes me so jealous we registered for that last Irusan's Attendance Event by talking to a giant cat but we can't ride on that giant cat all over Erinn. Please release mountable giant cat pets that function like the Corgi pets do.
