But I only knew those two people for like 6 days in total and that was yeeaars ago in 2020. So I barely know anything about them. I still see saikunan as the one who blackholed the only friendship I'd had in years.

About Me
I knew what I wrought when I un-personed my playerchar.
How new players get their birth-talent has changed several times over the years and it always gets treated as a new system, with the old methods sometimes lingering if you still have the old quests for them.
It's normal. I've been through it with characters from 2008 as well and they've even had items they wore back in 2008 in their inventory. The game just wants to show you its new stuff since it has been so long(seven years?)
It seems that background ambience and background music got separated in the move to 64bit. It's really nice hearing the birds and wind and ocean without also having to turn on the background music. I like it a lot and haven't had background music enabled in at least 9 years so hearing background ambience was a pleasant surprise. I just wish there was more of it because a lot of places are dead-silent all the time
Tailteann altar and Port Cobh sound so calm now with birds and ocean noise
Except Iria, Iria's background noises always played even with music muted. Not that it actually has many places with sounds at all.
I went with a trade elephant and got all the way to the solea cave opening.
The funny part is that even though the entire Nubes Mountain region is a separate instance that requires the game to cut-input and reload into it as a level, they still allow traders in and even placed bandit spawns there.
As far as I can tell, Watchtower artifacts only glow when the dunes are up after maintenence too:
(I mainly hang out at the outskirts of filia so I see the watchtower artifacts often)
And to derail a bit: An old giant!:
And a few more child NPCs wandering around at these trade hubs as well
It's always nice to see what older characters and children would look like in this game's simple motif artstyle.
Both trade hubs also have their own background music, which is a VERY unique thing to have in the Very Silent Iria region.
And it's also a very pet friendly experience, practically every NPC has pet-unique dialogue
For now, the musical functionality is a bit broken, and the trade hub music will persist throughout the entire desert and ice regions but only if you visit the trade hubs first to start the bg music playback
