Decided to come back after 5 years, and a lot had changed.

Starting fresh as an elf and focusing on archery.
What other builds and talents that be centered around archery? For example, I wanna dish out good DPS as well as have a good support build.

If you're dead set on archery you should do a lot of life skills for the dex. Weaving, refining, handicraft, etc... Besides life skills and archery, warrior skills give a fair amount of dex, plus you can use windmill and counter with a bow.
However a lot of people say that archery is bugged for elves, I don't know if that was ever fixed. One bonus to being an elf is mounted combat.

Someone more knowledgable than me can feel free to correct me or add anything, as I'm still relatively new myself, but I'll mention what I've got going on since I started elf and archery as well.

After your archery is done, or at least expert level, it wouldn't be too awful to go into Chain skills. You'll get much more AOE and mobility. There's also a passive you'll get called "Bachram Boost" that will restore all of your HP, MP, and Stamina as well as reset all of your cooldowns once every 10 minutes that you're in combat. This is a massive help early on as you don't have much HP yet.

You've got a few choices from here, depending on if you want to get more DEX or more sustainability first. At first, I thought I wanted the sustainability, but the damage was really nice to have, so that's pretty much up to preference. Remember to at least hit expert level before trying a new skillset for the free 100 AP.

You could go into Puppetry and get whatever DEX you can out of that skillset(most of the skills have DEX in later ranks). I can see this helping your support as you'll be getting a move called "Act 6: Crisis" that pulls everything nearby into your puppet. The range gets better the more the skill is ranked, and it would be really nice for your Chain Sweep, Magnum Shot, or Support Shot if anything is still alive. If you're not playing with groups, you could always learn music so you can buff yourself. You'll also be able to put enemies to sleep, which will help you reposition and give you time for your archery. Some of the skills give DEX.

A lot of life skills will give DEX and some of them HP as well. Albiet annoying to train, they don't cost too much AP and you can go from 200HP to 600. It just helps you survive a bit longer while you're still focusing on your DEX. I'd suggest taking a look at this list and seeing which ones you'd like to prioritize over others. This will also help you choose what puppetry or music skills to rank for now. Production Mastery doesn't give as much DEX as other skills, but it makes the success rate on them much better so you may want to rank it as you go anyways. If your success rate is ever too low and you're banking on a success, join a production party after your Production Mastery is rank 1.

At any point you may want to learn the skill Crisis Escape just to help sustainability. You can always rank it later. You can easily use a free rebirth potion we'll be getting on the weekend to rebirth into the Treasure Hunter talent and get the skill right away. Here's a link to everything else going on if you're curious what training bonuses you'll be getting throughout the week and when, as well as when Ace talents are available for free.

I'd also suggest going through Generation 19-20 after you've got Archery and Chain skills done so you can get Divine Link. You won't have much HP before the life skills, so having a pet be able to take aggro for you will help you a lot. The Cruscader skills are also slow to train, so it's better to start training Divine Link sooner than later.

In all honesty, I don't recommend you doing archery until you get something like warrior or fighter done. Archery is hard to deal with and thanks to how NA servers work, has a large margin for missing shots. Unless you're willing to drop a ton of real money and resources into it, archery is one of the most difficult skill sets to play with.

As someone who started elf and archery forever ago I would've agreed, but with the latest lag fixes among other things along with chains being a skillset you're fine to start archery provided you pick up chains as a secondary for AoE
