OK, I figured it out with the help of others. You need the Accesory Ring Type 1 that has the description "A common ring with a common look. The simple design is appealing." in order for you to craft the special gaurdian ring for the R2 First Aid quest. The wiki hasnt been updated yet to help with this quest, which is why I'm adding it on here, for anyone else stuck with it.
