I’ll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.
  • Option to turn off Bugle Horn messages.

This 100%. I've been back and forth on Mari and Alexina and it was never as bad as it is on Nao. People are flirting, roleplaying, advertising twitch channels, and trying to create fake hype for random things. I wouldn't mind it if I had the option to block certain people or not see it entirely.

  • Please let aim speed count toward magnum shot

I think your thoughts are leaning towards the general idea that archery has a very bad system, and that's honestly what we all think lol. It's too RNG, and everyone would probably agree with that.

I like the uniqueness in the idea that archery can miss and taking the time to aim, but for a weakness like that, it needs some kind of push to make it feel worth it. I personally don't think it needs a full revamp or needs to never miss like magic but maybe to take aim time more into consideration. Like 30 seconds of Final Shot is just so little for what it does. With the time it takes to aim and teleport yourself back in range, after about 8 magnum shots it's already gone for another 4 minutes.

Hopefully when they do decide to touch up on Archery they'll work on some smaller things too like allowing arrow bundle crafting or letting Vivace raise aim speed or any sort of small tweaks to make Archery more interesting because having wound rate and being ranged isn't really unique enough in modern mabi.

  • What if Hailstorm became like Giant Fullswing

I strongly disagree early game is short or maybe we have different ideas of what early game is and isn't. Maybe with Memoir you can close the gap but from personal experience you can be level 10000+ and still feel uncomfortable in Alban Training or Phantasm. Early game to me is ranking skills and doing everything that comes before min/maxing. (i.e. hunting for your final enchants, combo cards, reforging, crafting celtic weapons, worrying about bohemian and hebona-type set bonuses) How strong does magic have to be for it to work in tech duinn for you damage wise? Honestly no clue about duinn but it still works everywhere else for me.

As for the hydra thing, it's just a solution to mprot. To say, there's nothing you can do because mobs have mprot is pretty ridiculous if you don't at least try what's available.

Lutetium Not bad faith strawmanning but you were comparing 300,000 total level leaderboard characters on the KR server yet a few years ago I remember a forum post about people bragging about their total levels and we were nowhere near 120,000 let alone 300,000. I don't know how to explain this without possibly pissing you off but people telling other players to focus on efficiency so they "win" and kill things faster vs helping them get better at doing what they originally wanted to do can be the opposite of fun. It's pretty elitist.

Just because Puppetry has a big aoe move doesn't mean it invalidates magic. What if you want to do magic damage instead of physical or you don't want to look like a doofus with puppets? Free players can only equip 2 weapons at once so what if they don't want to have to equip a control bar, summon the puppet and charge for 2 seconds just to AoE mobs on a 17 second cooldown? I'm not having too much problems with game balance outside of seeing chainblades being way too strong before you actually invest anything into it but if you think magic needs some buffs, sure that's fine. I'd rather see a skill be buffed than removed completely though.

  • What if Hailstorm became like Giant Fullswing

Pretty sure suggesting someone might be crazy is more tame then assuming someone is braindead because they disagree.

Owntrolf - I understand your table which is why I'm saying context is important. I agree Firebolt can beat Hailstorm in cases but disagree that a revamp is the solution. Mabinogi gives players so many options that could be considered sub-optimal but might have different reasons for use and I honestly believe Ice magic runs on an idea of mana costs and repeated hits which puts Hailstorm in a slightly different place than firebolt.

Lutetium - I don't think you should call anyone out of touch when you're comparing NA Mabi to KR Mabi, that has been said to have way more popularity. You think all magic outside of Blaze and Lightning rod is objectively worthless? This is a big assumption on my part but I'm going to assume the reason you don't see people using all these types of magic is because the game has about 10+ different skill sets available to kill things with and chainslash is the newest one.

You can still see new players running around with different types of weapons but on the other hand I've seen some of the veterans around here openly tell new players "don't use knuckles, fighter is bad" "just buy a chainblade if you're an elf" and other fun-killing advice. And I've definitely seen people using int magic in runs. If you find mprot being too much of a problem, just use Hydra btw. That's what it's for. Though it would be nice if there were other magic defense/prot shredding options. There might be a technique or crusader skill for that idk.

Blissfulkill - I understand this but sort of disagree about it trivializing things. Was leveling up a low level 300 ish mage a while ago and traded over a CC firewand to clear some SMs and even with rF firebolt there's a significant damage increase. It can trivialize high HP mobs ,early on, when the game is encouraging and teaching you to use magic+counter and icebolt combos as a solution.

I brought up nerfing just as a suggestion. If you look at Arrow Revolver, it was nerfed when a cooldown was added to archery. Summon Golem was nerfed when r1 windmill was reduced to r6. They could always nerf firebolt or turn a portion of it's damage to a burn DOT which would incentivize people to use other magic skills. Preferably they could add other functions to Hailstorm like making it usable with spellwalk or fixing it so it works with vivace but these are much better solutions than to just revamp it so it becomes "A spammable magic aoe, like giant fullswing where we just make a gust of snow/blizzard/hail !?!??!" like OP said.

  • Daggers should scale Dex

I think daggers should be a sub-type of weapon, have their own mastery, and scale from dexterity. The scaling could be 3 Dex = 1 max damage, 4 Dex = 1 minimum damage. They should also maybe allow you to move and attack while using counter. Right now attack speed feels pretty useless on melee weapons outside of final hit. With that change, players could fight a boss with super armor like Merrow or Bran and continuously attack while counter is loaded to mitigate damage if not an effect of daggers, this should be an effect of small shields.

Some weapons that should (or could) be considered daggers:

    Dagger
    Fomor Dagger
    Dirk
    Tanto
    Scimitar (the elf weapon)
    Cooking Knife
    Gathering Knife
    Butcher Knife
    Big Table Knife, Fork, Spoon
