Toggle Environment features on/off
Samuelalex of Mari here and Ive noticed increated lag and crashing due to the addition of flight zones in Uladh so Im here to make a series of suggestions to help people with lower end computers (not all of us can afford upgrades after all):
- Toggle option to disable flight zones for player only where it would treat areas as no fly zones for character and pets when turned on. Other players are still able to fly and would be seen at the altitude that corrosponds to where they are. This gives people option to disable flight for them to reduce lag and make game more stable in areas of high environment loading ie big maps.
- Toggle option to minimize environment similar to minimizing characters but it would affect the surround map area to reduce the look of trees, shurbs, plants, water, sky, ect to minimal visual effects to reduce lag/crashing. One idea I had for this is to render objects close by separately from those far away so that the game loads environment objects within visual range instead of everything as once.
- Have option to optimize settings based on the computer performance such that when this is clicked it will enable or disable features which the graphic processor/cpu can safetly run without problems. If particular features cause instability they would be disabled with a prompt notifing user of it like when characters are minimized during boss raids. This would help players determine what features they can use and what ones are not available to them based on their current computer configuration.
People may not experience any problems depending how their computers are setup, but the idea behind this is to help give people options to disable some features of the game in hopes of reducing lag/crashing in the event they do have older computer and maybe lesser ram/memory ect. Might even help reduce lag for newer computer setups too who knows? What do you all think of this? If you have other suggestions how to reduce lag/crashing (without upgrading computer or parts inside) feel free to post here.
