I don't know if it's appropriate to post potential storyline suggestions, but here goes anyway. We need to bring back Neamhain, the Goddess of Light and creator of Iria and the Elves and Giants as the Irinid. We never know what became of her after hearing Morrighan say she lost her light, therefore leaving a very big hole in the storyline regarding her. We see that Connous and Physis' environments are becoming more hospitable, but I feel like if she had died, that there would be more negative effects affecting Iria. It's been, what, eight chapters since we've last seen her since the Return of the Hero content with Nuadha?

Thoughts?

You probably mean Generations. There's only 6(?) Chapters thus far, lol.

What happened was that at the very end of G16, Morrighan stated that the gods of Falias (Neamhain/Irinid included) no longer wanted involvement in Erinn anymore and that it was unlikely that they (the gods) and Milletian would cross paths again. The problem was the awkward way in which it was done; Morrighan pretty much acted as the spokesperson for all the gods, and then the way it was thrown in so suddenly...

As for Morrighan stating that Neamhain lost her light - at the end of G12 (after the Nuadha boss fight), there is a scene where Morrighan tells the Milletian to return Neamhain's powers back to her: "I will send you to Neamhain. Use the powers of the Milletians to rekindle the light of the Goddess." -- With that you're left to assume that the Milletian did just that. There is no scene showing/explaining it.

Also, it's probably fair to note that the events of The Saga: Iria I (like Tarlach breaking the seals, the dragons becoming freed, etc.) were able to happen because she was no longer influencing Erinn. Her curse on Iria was broken, as explained on the slabs in Nemeton/Pincara. In fact, it could be fair to say that Iria would have seen brighter days with her gone... at least post-Saga wise?

Of course, this is not to discourage the notion of her returning to the story. And none of this excuses the plotholes and unanswered questions left behind about her. (Why did she curse the Settlers...?) However, with the way the story has shifted currently (Chapter 6)... it just doesn't seem likely that she or any of the Falias gods will be a priority again soon, if ever. =/

Note that some of my information miiiight be slightly inaccurate. My memory of Chapter 3 is very hazy.

No, a lot of it sounds right, but it's with that whole lack of visual confirmation regarding her that it makes me wonder if anything even occurred. Neamhain doesn't strike me as one to let others speak for her, Morrighan or otherwise. =T

exactly, Neamhain was quite tough so I can't see her letting Morrighan speak for her either. I don't completely trust Morrighan very much anyway, it would not be surprising if she was covering up something else instead.

Yeah, Morrighan has already proven that she's willing to use us as a means to an end, who is to say she wouldn't do the same with her sister? I would like to see something happen involving the Prophets going to Iria and causing trouble and risking her wrath. I could see them looking to use Macha for that end too, which they would have to summon her for, which we would need to involve a certain bratty shaman-in-training for... =D

she threatened to kill us, and we still don't know if she knew the soul stream would hurt Tir Na Nog and Belvast or not or if she really fixed it like she said. it is quite possible Neamhain created Iria later as a safe zone for humans to run to in case Morrighan does something crazy. just cause Morrighan's soul stream did one good thing bringing milletians does not excuse all the other damage she has caused. and this might just be me but I think open eyed Morrighan looks more evil then good. but yeah I would love to see more story about it in Iria as maybe a Saga 3 or something. they should also show the past of the Muyu Desert as I strongly think elves and giants lived there in peace together before the war between them started and possibly before Neamhain left them. it may have been ruled by her for a time for all we know.

I feel like the lack of visual confirmation happened because the story writers somehow couldn't cram it in with everything else going on, or perhaps they felt like the scene would drag on, especially seeing as that was the end of that particular Generation. Then, Chapter 4 rolled in with a new director (I think?) and they prioritized the Shakespeare stuff over getting back into the Falias gods other than Morrighan and Cichol. As for Morrighan speaking for Neamhain (and all of the other gods)---that's G16 for you. There were quite a number of things in that whole Chapter that felt either awkward or rushed. I don't even think the fourth Guardian of Avon was ever revealed (you fight Bran twice and I doubt he counts as two Guardians).

At the same time I can kind of see Neamhain/Irinid not wanting involvement in Erinn anymore. Her own creations went against her wishes (wanting the Heart of Courcle to themselves), her son chose the path she didn't want him to have (and died), and then she couldn't have the Brionac to make her dream of Tir Na Nog's restoration (though Cichol notes that such would have instead resulted in its destruction) come true. It's possible that she was fed up with Erinn. I do agree that it would have been much smoother if she had come out and said so if such was the case. But then again, look at the other gods. It doesn't seem likely that Cichol or Nuadha would let Morrighan do their talking for them either. It was likely made that way for the sake of plot convenience. >_<

Eh... I would see Neamhain having a greater problem with other Gods than Erinn itself, seeing as Cichol's led to the countering of her actions. Her wanting to use the Brionac with the Heart of Courcle to destroy Erinn? Cichol warns the Milletian about it.

Cichol essentially kills her son Elatha by offering him unto the Doppleganger before her eyes. Nuadha tries to kill her, which the Milletian thwarts. Aton Cimeni was the one who gave Partholon the Caliburn which becomes the Brionac. The Fomors taking the Caliburn acts as a parallel to the Heart of Courcle incident, except that artifact was never claimed by anyone other than Neamhain herself.

The Elf and Giant wanting the Heart of Courcle thing is a part where I have the most problem with her. Why were the Elves cursed two-fold, and not the Giants? The Elves have the risk of turning into Ghosts as well as living in the harsh desert environment, whereas the Giants only have the harsh, constant winter to deal with. Where would the Elves and Giants even get the idea that the Heart of Courcle was an item of power unless Neamhain was toting it around and showing it off?

She also doesn't seem in the know about Erinn in fact being the Paradise known as Tir Na Nog, so any act on that would have been pointless unless she simply meant that she would eradicate everything man-made in the world and return it to its point before that.

Personally, the way I feel she was handled is pretty lazy, and it still needs addressing. Perhaps when we finally see Aton Cimeni, we'll see her again too. =D

well according to the wiki the elves and giants originally wanted the Heart of Courcle believing it would make themselves as powerful as Neamhain/Irinid and since it was powerful enough to help her create all of Iria they probably knew it could be used to benefit one side somehow. as many giants also believe they were created before the elves and maybe the giants wanted it to erase elves and claim all of Iria. if it could be used to help create the elves and giants it is also possible it could be used to get rid of either race as well. the elves sure got it worst then the giants, maybe they were cursed to turn into ugly desert ghosts cause elves back then may have been more greedy and selfish for knowledge and power and maybe Neamhain thought their outside should match their inside. after all Castanea is responsible for elves memory loss to hide parts of the past and Irinid's Curse claiming it is to protect her race. however what proof does she really have that knowing and learning from the past will lead to the elves destruction. she may just be to self-centered and stubborn in the ancient ways to give up her position and let the elves future evolve more and she appears to be willing to do many dark things to do it. although I am surprised she has not become a desert ghost herself yet so it is all just a theory.

I can't stand Castanea because of the way she operates. Let's not forget how she sent her and Hagel's child to Erinn to not be affected by the Memory Tower. I wonder how many Elves other than Hagel know about that. I wonder if Maike (probably the most loyal Elf she's got) knows. Seeing as Andras is still doing well in Uladh, in spite of the harassment she encountered when people thought she was Fomor, he might feel that other children could benefit from a similar arrangement and question why Castanea would not mention it to others sooner? Maike, for certain, is an angry man, the only Elf that seems to possess the fire of life in spite of his insomnia, but his people come before his own comfort. That much is apparent. I would love to see him take over as Chief, especially since he actually goes out and fights alongside his people. Krug does that with his fellows Giants, but what does Castanea do? Hang out with the "Oblivious Elves" (who are these guys anyway?) and disappear people? Has she ever been on a battlefield? I honestly feel like Filia would benefit from her removal.

Another thing that I question is Saga 7's episode. I get that Vales is on the way to their hideout anyway, but why wasn't an attempt made on Castanea's life? The Cessair clearly sent in a spy to screw with the Milletians via the research done in Shyllien Reserve; why not try to kill the Elven Chief too? It makes one think if she could have been involved.

In regard to the why Neamhain cursed the Elves two-fold, I would rather have confirmation from the story because both sides could exude greed. Also in regard to the Heart of Courcle, yes, I know that was their motivation, but how did they come to know it was an item of power unless Neamhain had it VISIBLE in her possession when she was performing her acts of creation and the like? Cichol seems keen on trolling the other gods. Perhaps he was responsible for the Elves and Giants coming to learn about the Heart of Courcle.
