New maps for future G's

in Feedback and Suggestions
Humans, Giants, and Elves are very similar looking. A biologist would suspect a recent common ancestor. We see that Giant's and Elves come from Iria. Giants and Elves appear to be more similar to Humans than to each other and on Iria there is an indigenous tribe of Humans, apparently not related to those of Port Quilla, that are situated directly between the two. This could suggest that primitive humans first evolved on Erinn in Couracle. Those that moved south to Connous evolved into Elves. Those that moved north to Physis evolved into Giants. But then what of the Humans of Uldah. It would have to be then that at some time in the past Humans traveled from Couracle to Uldah. Either from some long collapsed ancient civilization, or some kind of Erinn ice-age land bridge, or maybe by ocean going canoes like the Polynesians. When they arrived in Uldah it was already occupied by the Fomors who were then displaced and hence the basis of their hatred of Humans.

So with that background, maybe the rest of Uldah, west of Tara can be Fomorian lands, and their story can be part of future G's.

    I like that headcanon.

My fantasy canon regarding mabi race origins is that Giants are descended from yeti-like beasts, Elves are descended from bird creatures, and humans are descended from succubi.

    Alternate fantasy canon below

Ruined Earth <---> Shadow Realm <---> Erinn

The Shadow Realm is a plane of reality that acts as bridge, a limbo, between Post-Apocalyptic Earth and Erinn. The dark sky and the barren landscape of the Shadow Realm are inherited from the ruined Earth, and the general geography and buildings are inherited from Erinn. Humans fled the dying Earth, they travelled through the Shadow Realm, and then emerged in beautiful Erinn where they stayed and fluorished. The Humans who were left behind on the ruined Earth transformed into grotesque beings who invaded and conquered all of the Shadow Realm and eventually became Fomors. The Humans now living on Erinn sealed off the Shadow Realm and have been fighting the invading Fomors ever since.

But not all Fomors ended up grotesque and evil. Some became Elves, other Giants, and yet others became the Fairies, Imps, and Goblins we all know and love.

The only problem with this is that we have actual origin stories for each of the races. The easiest are giants and elves, which are explicitly stated to be creations of Irinid, or as Uladh calls her, Neamhain. The humans from Iria are stated to be settlers who came over from ships. A common theme in Mabi is that ships could refer to actual sea going vessels, or ships that literally traverse dimensions (Meryl and her fleet are one). For Uladh we have gone through several iterations of races, the Partholons which are settlers from another place, the Fomors, who are another race of settlers, the Tuans, descendants of the Partholons, and the Millitians, another race of "settlers". The Fomors are an interesting case in that its not referring to 1 single race, but an alliance of several different races. So in terms of races, we have humans (Tuans, and Cor residents), elves, giants, all races under the Fomor banner, and Millitians. And yes, Milltians are a separate race entirely as they are pretty much shape shifting immortal demigods. Shakespeare is also proof that storywise the Millitians could race change by rebirth (game play and story segregation there).

On that note we are sorta getting into the homeland of the Fomors, as Balor was the king of them and the Tech Duinn Gatea is a portal to their home. The only place we have yet to visit proper is the homeland of the Partholons. Erinn is fully the creation of actual Gods, with Uladh being the "main" project of sorts, and Iria was Neamhain's personal project. So the 3 places separate from Erinn is the homeland of the Fomors, the origins of the Partholon, and the Millitan homeworld (which is earth, all Millitians are souls of earth).

Not Cobh, Ceann! Geeze I've already forgotten the place because no one goes there.

Or Maybe southward expansion for a new Ceann that actually has buildings and a trading post!
. Westward could be accomplished by building a bridge across the river west of Tara.

Definitely room to move southward, westward, and even north.
I believe Doki Doki Island/Nekojima is somewhere in the south.

There still unused areas in northern Uladh too.

You know what? The more I look at this map, Iria looks more like a bloated Great Britain and Uladh looks like a large Ireland. Belvast would be the Isle of Man.
