I'd never really thought about this ... until now.

Swords and sorcery games like Mabinogi all began in the 1970's with D&D. Ever since then one thing has always been the same and I'd never really thought about it until I noticed something about it. Monsters, be they trolls, zombies, demons, orcs, even lions, tigers, and bears; oh my! They all drop gold. Why do they have gold to drop? Do they go into town once in a while to buy stuff? That's awfully law abiding of them, don't cha think? Why not just take the stuff? Do towns people just take it in stride that an elephant and wisp are lined up to buy a blueberry muffin and a smoothie at Orange Julius?

What gives?
