Trapped on dematerialised bridge
I was crossing the Most Northern bridge from Maiz Prairie to Courcle, mounted on my commerce camel, when the bridge apparently hit its expiry time and disappeared underneath me. This left me floating in space, trapped on an invisible rectangle. I was unable to leave the invisible rectangle from either end. I didn't see the normal pulsing light animation that happens when a bridge disappears. I suspect this means that I'd just reached the point near the end of the bridge when the game transports a character from the bridge on the Maiz map to the same point on the bridge in the Courcle map, and the bridge expired while this transition was happening.
I tried using an L-Rod to rediscover the bridge. At both ends of the invisible bridge I could get the four blips sound which indicated that I should be able to discover something, but I could only click on the invisible bridge, which wasn't enough to rediscover it. If I moved the cursor to the land beyond the invisible bridge, the cursor changed to the shape indicating I couldn't select that spot.
It may be that changing channel, relogging, or using continent warp would have moved me off the bridge. Since I was engaged in commerce I didn't want to try those options since they would trigger the commerce goods penalty. So I waited, in the hope that another player would come along and rescue me by rediscovering the bridge. Alas, I was on one of the less used channels, in the quiet hour just before maintenance, so that didn't work. Eventually I logged out just before maintenance closed the game.
When I logged back in after maintenance, my character was still trapped on the invisible bridge, but my camel, which had previously also been trapped there had successfully crossed into Courcle. I tried rediscovering the bridge at the Courcle end and this time it did work. Not sure why. I don't think I did anything different to the previous attempt. From there I was able to rejoin my camel and complete the commerce expedition, though due to the logout penalty I made a loss.
I realise that in general we aren't supposed to post a bug that we haven't managed to consistently reproduce, but I am not going to actively attempt to reproduce a bug that entails a commerce loss. I'm not even sure I could try to reproduce it. As mentioned above, since I didn't see the animation to indicate an expiring bridge, I think the bridge expired while the game was performing the map transition. Just standing in the middle of the bridge and waiting for it to expire won't reproduce that.
