My suggestion is simple. Rework how we handle iron bars in the game. Making them via blacksmithing is horribly clunky and leads to material and time waste, when crafting them could be done by adjusting how many iron bars go into them and simply making them a refining recipe. Also, please make them stackable, it would make crafting items that require iron bars so much easier, as well as make them easier to store.

i often think about the reason why many of the things are and/or were in a way and i reach a conclusion that there may have been a reason for them. a hidden message of sorts, if you will. many of the things that are now stackable and weren't i feel could have a valuable reason to not have been stackable and a lesson to be learnt from them, as some of the craftables presenting a seemingly unnecessary added layer of difficulty.

but as the times progress it seems that inflation is unnavoidable -everything is about crafting more and more quantities and every other thing requires more and more quantities to get to another step- and, particularly, it saddens me a little, but i also welcome 'easier' difficulties, since it feels as when something gets changed for something more convenient, that another thing -usually new things- are made to be more difficult.

i just hope something is left to remind older players of how things were and perhaps to still teach newer players the values or lessons i am theorizing may exist behind some of the original designs, as the innevitable road to industrialization is paved in front of us.

There is no recipe with which to smith nails. All nails used by the private sector are gotten via theft of government property; how the government gets them, who knows. Maybe when the universe was created, the Gods made a finite supply of nails and they've been passed/thefted around since.
