Auto-farming, is it against Code of Conduct?

With the advent of doll-bags and skills like Enthralling Performance, it's never been easier to farm loot drops from Mobs like Spiders. My question is this: Is it technically against TOS to use these bags/skills to corral mobs into a corner and go AFK with doll-bags? Under Terms of Service: Code of Conduct there is a line stating "Using macros, auto-looting or robot play, or any other behavior that allows you (or any character you are controlling) to automatically function or effect any action in a game with or without your presence." I'd argue auto-farming Silk from Spiders is in direct violation of this.

What do you think? And could I get in trouble doing this?

Thank you.

Most likely not against TOS as it is using tools in the game for gathering. Nobody doing this is using third party programs to cheat or exploiting a glitch/bug. That would definitely be against TOS but using doll bags and barding skills to round up some spiders is done all the time. Doll Bags are literally meant for auto-farming gold, materials, and other items so you don't have to put in the effort picking it up. Spiders that are in attack mode don't cobwebs so you can either use a Elf or a Crystal Deer Pet to use the hide action around them and afk while your doll bag gathers cobwebs. You might be able to argue trapping spiders by getting a bunch of them stuck in a corner is taking advantage of their AI by trapping them in a way that is difficult for them to escape. But it really isn't a big deal, you could just use the Hide Action in Alby Dungeon in a room full of spiders and use a doll bag and basically get the same result.

You can do the same thing for training counts on skills. Zombies only take 1 damage from most long ranged types of attacks or there are skills that require you to defeat or hit a certain number of enemies. So herding up some zombies in the Tir Na Nog graveyard is extremely effective for some training some skills. It is not taking advantage of any type of bug or cheating but simply knowing what areas are best for farming quickly.

This is a game that encourages players to spend just as much time being afk as they spend being active. Half of our events are afk events, you can afk at the Festia Landmark and just gain levels, and we even have expensive chairs now that give you short buffs for going afk for a few minutes now. Plus with the Fishing Skill you can get tons of materials just as valuable or more valuable than cobwebs and just go afk for hours. So no it really isn't a problem considering the game is designed to be a partly afk with little to no effort experience for certain things. They just don't want you hacking into the game and using third party programs to gain a unfair advantage.

The issue is whether you are using third party software that involves modifying Nexon files. If you are not profiting by damaging Nexon property then you should be okay. So, for example, if you use operating system macros to operate your character then you wouldn't be damaging Nexon property but Nexon software looks for such things and if it finds them then it takes it's ball and goes home. If you have to twiddle Nexon's software to keep them from finding it, well then that's a problem. So, if you use a physical robot that can correctly parse the information on the screen, by viewing it with a camera and enter commands, all the while being operated by another computer, then that would be okay. If you can't do that then bribe your little brother to do it.

    Frankly, I think it's borderline.
Using the game mechanics, OK, but if you go AFK while it's running by itself…
It's starting to look like automated gambling, so yes, potentially risky.
I understand the temptation, especially for silks, it's a long time to farm.
But in my opinion, if someone points you out, you might be in trouble.
Personally, I prefer to stay active or at least discreet in my sessions.
Better to avoid penalties for a little extra loot.
