Issue:
Presently it is possible to trap yourself in debt on Moonlight Island due to maintenance fees. Due to the way maintenance fees work, and the costs associated in removing objects from Moonlight Island that cause maintenance fees, it is possible to be stuck in a situation where you slide further and further into debt and the only way to free yourself from it is either to spend REAL money for Pon or perform some very time-consuming, luck-based grinding. In addition, there is no way to tell how far in debt you are. Due to this I am functionally locked out of a number of Homestead and Moonlight Island features due to my inability to keep Homestead Stones.
Recreating the Issue:
- Create any object on your Homestead that has a maintenance fee (for example, a Cow)
- Run out of Homestead Stones to pay for the fee, and then leave it for a few more days to accumulate hidden debt.
- Attempt to pay for your fee with newly accumulated stones, having more stones than the displayed fee cost states
- You should receive a message about paying with Pon; if you don't have enough, you can't do anything here and it won't tell you how much you owe in Stones.
- In addition, note that you cannot remove the fee-incurring objects until you have paid your outstanding debt.
If this is a bug, it should be noted that relogging, closing the game and rebooting, and changing channel have no effect on it.
What should happen:
Moonlight Island objects should stop producing AND stop incurring fees the moment you are unable to pay the maintenance. In addition, they shouldn't cost anything to simply delete - packing them into an item in your inventory should be a different option. If the debt situation is somehow intentional, at least display how much debt the player is in, and give more opportunities or methods to recover from it!
Attempting to remove the item:
Attempting to pay the fee despite having more stones than listed in the fee, and getting told to pay with real money instead
My in-game character name is Latona, on Erinn server.
