I really liked the new farming feature so far, it's fun and enjoyable. Of course they had to find a way to ruin that too though with the captcha system they added, though. It basically punishes the player for actively farming, which is ridiculous. It should be encouraged, but it instead discourages it. I'm not sure if Nexon considered that those who suffer with lag would also be more prone to failing the captcha. And when you fail, you get logged out. If you fail too much, you get suspended for doing nothing but simply failing, which is crazy. Plus the popup can appear at inconvenient times like during a thief attack, which they clearly didn't even think about.
I get it's supposed to be in place because of bots, but at this point, these measures make the game less enjoyable/harder for actual players and can even punish those who did nothing wrong, just like how the dungeon limits or party member limits made it less enjoyable for actual players. Really, the bot farming issues never really bothered me much to begin with. These anti bot measures actually are bothering me, and others. I'm also curious if too many fails on the captcha system will eventually result to a permanent ban or not. But even if that wasn't the case, I can't imagine risking getting locked out of the game for a few days or hours because of a fail.
It's supposed to be a low chance, but it's certainly not if you're active with farming, which is ideal for me. I myself only got the popup once and didn't have an issue with it, but I also just started farming yesterday and got it fast (I first thought it was a mini game and I would get something for completing it when I encountered it), but it's the risk that's there that discourages me from using the farm feature at all. I won't bother with it anymore, and if they add captcha to other aspects of the game, I'm quitting. An idea that I saw is just adding a captcha before even getting into the game rather than integrating it into the game itself and sucking the enjoyment out of everything, but I doubt Nexon will do that.
The AI system they have with randomly banning players who did nothing wrong is also insane, meanwhile actual players who have said NSFW things openly are still running along fine. They need to start using actual humans for their tickets again rather than AI's. There were times I wanted to send a ticket but realized I most likely wouldn't receive help anyway or risk getting my account in trouble since it's just AI and I've heard of multiple instances where a player wasn't able to get help or their request to be heard out. This whole direction is bad, and they will keep losing players if they continue to not listen to them (and keep banning the ones who did nothing wrong).
I just hope we get a different Director soon enough. Some aspects and updates for Mabinogi is fun, and then there's just bad ones mixed in with all of it. I didn't even completely hate New Rise, and I'll miss some parts of it, especially since it's already been a year of having it around. I liked dungeons having shorter floors and it won't be fun going back to. It just needs to be harder, not longer, but maybe that's an unpopular opinion there.

I'm actually very angry with the choices Nexon continues to make with Mabi. I love the game so much as well and have been playing for years. Now I feel they've been ruining it and lately I don't have the energy to even play anymore. Even when I got really into it again on the beginning of this Masterplan, another thing that ruined things a bit was being unable to run most sms with 5 of my guildmates because of the terrible party limits. It makes it hard to even think about group runs, which they should focus on more as an MMO.
Yeah, that's way too consistent for the popups. It's also bad that everyone's probably likely to get it a lot on the first few days since they're literally doing the tutorial and trying out this new thing Nexon introduced to us. It's like they don't actually want us to play it. When you fail the captcha, you get logged out. A friend told me they failed a few times and couldn't get back on until like three hours? I think? And a post I found on reddit said their friend was locked out for a few days after too many fails. Essentially temporarily banned. Even though they were a human that just failed. Not sure if perma ban is on the table or not. While lag was one thing that Nexon didn't account for, this is also unfair to people who might have reading issues such as dyslexia. It's an unfair human check with fairly severe consequences as far as we know. At this point I would rather let the bots have at it.
Mhm, it feels like they just keep self-sabotaging on making the game worse and killing it faster before they can even bring out Eternity. While I have recommended this game openly to people in the past, it's reached a point where I can't in good conscious recommend it any longer.
Yes, I hate AI for a list of reasons, and it's annoying to watch people attempt to make use of something that's also bad at its job on top of how problematic it is. It's weird to watch Nexon try to move into using AI more when so much of their fanbase either openly dislike AI and/or are artists to some level.
Agreed. When I got it, I think the reason I was able to not panic and type it out all perfectly was because I didn't know what it was or that there could be consequences. The time limit on top of the captcha really just make it all so much worse.
Me too. It's that one game I kept going back to and played whenever I felt down. I don't like seeing what it's becoming.
Currently the game feels like it restricts players more trying to pressure players to play a certain way, limit how much we can do, and putting trade restrictions on some event outfits. Overall it is not really a fun experience anymore. Hopefully Min Kyunghoon will take over as Director again when Eternity is finished, Choi Dongmin needs to be fired as soon as possible cause he is literal poison to the game.
