Why does it have to be that specific school for pottery?
Hell, it's located in Tokyo, so someone on the JP team could probably even have done the class already.
Maybe they still have some old notes the devs could use... you never know unless you ask around.
Because that's the first thing that popped up on a google search.
There's probably more schools out there, but Tokyo is where Nexon JP is headquartered.
It's closest, and probably cheapest in terms of travel.
Well you don't have to go to high level schools to learn about pottery, or basics of pottery.
After all, you never know how some developers do their research or sketch out their concepts.
I don't think it's necessary to go that deep into it to add it into games. Although, of course having the knowledge helps.
There are plenty of material where you can learn about pottery and glass blowing and other crafts that one can find without having to go to a trade specific school. People also have connections and may know people who have learned it or are professionals at it to gain the knowledge. And I think game developers have this info, and that's why they're able to make more advanced games.
Of course, crafting in games don't always have the effect that some people want it to be. People want them to be as realistic as possible. I feel that Mabi as it is and as it always has been one of the better crafting games available.
Simply put, it's not rocket science to add kilns, or reuse ovens in game, add sources for clay and other pottery/glass making materials. The really only research that is needed is to look into the types of pottery and their usage for each level.
Well, progress as been made at least.
