So What Is Mabinogi Like Now?
How is the community on Alexina?
Is there new content?
Is everyone lively again?
Do...do elves still exist along with fashionogi and the greedy merchant cult? >.>........
So tell me how are things now and should we come back? ;O

The community on Alexina seems pretty nice from my experience. A lot of people have been very polite. I will say that compared to 2 years ago, it seems the activity has gone down, but I'm going to assume that the holiday/finals season is partly to blame for that. At least until mid-January.
The Freestyle Jam action plops down a musical note thingy and has you play something akin to the Doki Doki Boombox minigame while you play music.
During Freestyle Jam, other players can click the musical note to join you in your playing.
If they don't have a musical score of their own equipped, they'll play what you're playing, and no one will sound off-key while freestyle jamming, even if you mess up on the minigame.
Doing the minigame gets you 200, 400, 800, 1600, or 3200 exp for getting a max combo of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5+, it's a small bonus but whatever.
Obtaining a combo of 5 at any time during the jam will award you with the "Melody Step" buff for 1 hour after the song is completed, granting you -25% durability consumption along with a musical trail following you as you move.
The Math Musical Dungeon is a new version of Math, with passes sold for 0 gold by Ailla (the dancing elf woman) at the Bard Camp in Abb Neagh. Ailla also got an NPC portrait.
Math Musical dungeon has various music based puzzle rooms, mostly to do with recognizing and/or memorizing Notes, Songs, and Instruments.
The boss has an obscene amount of HP, if you were to fight him normally, but he can be greatly damaged by playing music to match his own melody using Scores dropped by his minions.
This dungeon drops materials to create the new Milky Way Instruments, which can be crafted via the Handicraft, Carpentry, and Hillwen Engineering skills.
The Renown system was added, and currently consists of 3 bonuses you can build up through gaining "renown" with select NPCs using specific methods.
These NPCs are Nele, dealing with Music Composition, Yvona, dealing with Instrument Playing, and Briana, dealing with musical appreciation
Gaining "Renown Levels" with these NPCs through gaining Renown from various actions increases their bonuses.
Nele will increase your Maximum Critical Rate (which I believe means the effective cap of getting critical hits).
Yvona will increase your Critical Damage.
Briana will increase your Shadow Mission Reward Experience.
There was also added a phenomenon called "Cairbre's Blessing" which can affect and area via someone starting a Freestyle Jam.
It happens rarely, but once it appears, it will be announced to everyone online, and again if they cc or log in during the blessing.
Going to the blessed area and performing a Freestyle Jam will be rewarded with 2x Freestyle Jam reward experience and a combo of 5+ will award you with a "Cairbre's Bugle" item, which when used while under the effects of Melody Step will replace it with the Blessed Melody Step buff, granting decreased durability usage and +3 Music Buff Effect and a golden musical trail effect for 3 hours.
Also, the Composing interface was changed, and you can now upload and transcribe Music Scores to the Bard Bulletin.
From my experience it is individuals and the community who keeps each other active.
But there have been no focus on new players or much socializing. I messaged you like several times already and you didn't respond. >.>
Read your messages so you know what's going on! >;( I will have to find time to delve into each of these things carefully.
Thank you for your detailed reply. I appreciate it.
Gaeabear you're being overly dramatic. o -o
