Hello, everybody.
This thread will be used to announce various events that we, the
Ornac guild, will be holding from
Sunday, January 15, 2017 onwards. It will also contain information on resources we have prepared for the server.
This
first post will be edited as necessary to reflect
upcoming events,
winners of past events, and
new Guild offerings, though a new post will be made announcing each new event and development for posterity.
If you have any questions, please contact either
Retsamehtmai or
Hawkleaf in-game.
If you would like to find us on
Discord, ask Retsamehtmai or Hawkleaf, as above, for an invite.
We look forward to serving this community.
With that being said…

Monthly Music Contest Set UpRulesContestants must use song scrolls that they’ve written themselves (arrangement or original piece) to be eligible for grand prizes. All scrolls must be checked for the contestant’s name and visible chords. Song names be checked across the in-game bard board and elsewhere. There is no time limit for songs that are entered. Guild Offerings:==============
We are currently developing
16 level 14 Homesteads to fill with
various Homestead resources (Herbs, firewood, fishing spots, et cetera). All resources have been set so that
anybody can use them. To gain access to the Homestead you need, add the appropriate name from the list below. Do not worry about taking too much; there will be plenty to go around.
Among these, the following have been completed, although not necessarily given the (+3) Homestead Size Expansion as yet:
1) Sinamor - Base Herbs (434 Patches)2) Sinsomnium - Base Herbs (434 Patches)3) Sindelta - Bloody Herbs (434 Patches) 4) Sinsanitas - Bloody Herbs (86 Patches)5) Sinsol - Sunlight Herbs (434 Patches) 6) Bunnycrush - Sunlight Herbs (434 Patches)7) Sinmaji - Mana Herbs (434 Patches)8) Sininanas - Mana Herbs (230 Patches)9) Sinaurum - Golden Herbs (390 Patches)10) Singelder - Golden Herbs (0 Patches)Among those that have helped with this project are
Ayamepassaro,
Azianna,
Bunnilicious,

Retsamehtmai,
Rocky225, and
Seikochan. If you helped and it slipped my mind, correct me, and I'll edit this post accordingly.

Information regarding the 2nd Contest scheduled for 1/22/2017 will be posted tomorrow, once the details have been arranged.
In addition, Composing Skill Books will be offered as prizes. The winner of the Adaptation category will receive Pitfalls of Composition (Rank 5->4). The winner of the Original Works category will receive A Composer's Life (Rank 4->3). The grand prize winner will receive Unknown Song Vol. I (Rank 3->2).
At the suggestion of some prospective contestants, we have decided to ask that contestants provide one or more of the Judges with the Score they intend to use for the contest before-hand. The Score should have the contestant's name on it as the composer and have the chords visible.
The 3rd contest will take place at Calida again, 1/29/2017, 6 PM EST (3 PM PST). Prizes will be the usual 1M for each category winner, 2M for the overall winner.
First post will be edited accordingly.
Thank you for the suggestion. After some discussion, we've decided to give this a shot.
I forgot to add this into the rules earlier, but if you are the Overall winner of a contest (Read: You take home the grand prize), you will be unable to compete in the contest immediately following the one you won. That is, if you win Contest 1, you have to sit out Contest 2, but can go on to compete in Contest 3.
The winner of the 3rd Contest was Elfiea with an adaptation.
The 4th Contest will take place at Calida on Sunday, 2/5/2017, 6 PM EST (3 PM PST), in Channel 7. Prizes will be the usual 1M for each Category Winner, 2M for the overall winner.
First post will be edited accordingly.
I mean, um. I totally did not forget that today was the Superbowl. Anyway, not enough contestants showed up to have a legitimate contest.
The 5th Contest will take place at Calida on Sunday, 2/12/2017, 6 PM EST (3 PM PST), in Channel 7. Prizes will be the usual 1M for each Category Winner, 2M for the overall winner.
First post will be edited accordingly.
The 6th Contest will take place at Calida on Sunday, 2/19/2017, 6 PM EST (3 PM PST), in Channel 7. Prizes will be the usual 1M for each Category Winner, 2M for the overall winner.
In other news, some practical progress has been achieved on another guild project. We have been preparing 16 level 14 Homesteads to fill with Production materials and tools. One of these Homesteads, a Base Herb homestead, has now been finished.
Should you need to gather any Base Herbs, all patches are open to the public. Add Sinamor to your friend list to gain access, and don't worry about taking too much. There will be plenty to go around.
Among those helping with this project are Ayamepassaro, Azianna, havu, Miidoriisour, Retsamehtmai, and Seikochan. If I missed anybody, correct me and I'll fix this post.
FIrst post will be edited accordingly.
Following said Contest, a post will be made regarding some changes to the scheduling of the Music Contest, among other possible news. Stay tuned.
First post will be edited accordingly.
In light of recent developments, we are shifting the structure of the Music Contests. They will now be held every 2 weeks, rather than every week.
In addition, contestants should submit a copy of the score they intend to use to either Retsamehtmai, one of the non-participating Judges, or Zairak no later than the Sunday prior to the actual Contest. A list of non-participating Judges will be added to the first post after we determine such.
As before, 50k will be given to all non-winning contestants.
Themes will now be in play. The theme for the upcoming Music Contest will be 'Whimsical and Lively'.
Contestants may now enter as often as they wish, rather than having to sit out one Contest after they win once. They must submit a different score than they used in prior Contests.
The next Music Contest will take place on March 5th, 2017, at 6 PM EST (3 PM PST) in Channel 7 at Lake Calida.
With the new addition of Tommytom14 into Ornac, we will begin holding PvP Tournaments. These will also be biweekly contests. They will never take place on the same week as the Music Contests, alternating by week instead.
Currently, they are set to take place outside Rath Royal Castle after the Royal Banquet on Saturdays. As with the Music Contest, the PvP Tournament will be in Channel 7.
Likewise, 50k will be handed out to all non-winning participants in the PvP Tournament. 2M will go to the winner, 1M to the runner-up. Various items may be up for grabs at the discretion of Tommytom14.
The tournament style will be standard; You lose one time, you are out.
The following links provide the general ruleset for the Tournaments. I will parse them into text sometime tomorrow, when I have more time. They are http://imgur.com/Mb4hQ9W and http://imgur.com/xp3V2l1
If you would like to participate, send some manner of message to Tommytom14 regarding the matter. The 1st Ornac PvP Tournament is scheduled for February 25th, 2017, after the Royal Banquet. It will be outside Rath Royal Castle in Channel 7.
That is all for now. A more concise edit for all this will be made to the first post when I am more fully awake.
Just one question for the Music Contest:
Within the first week we have to submit our themed score scroll, then the week after that on Sunday is the contest, and we get our scrolls back?
What's the point of submitting the score for a whole week?
Sorry I think I'm reading something wrong x_x
So we don't have to submit our scores? (Except right before we perform)
Say a Contest is scheduled for Sunday of Week 2. The Score you intend to use should be submitted by Sunday of Week 1.
We do this because some Contestants have expressed concerns over people ripping off other people's work. It also lets us check to make sure the Score isn't being reused by a Contestant. That gives us a week to check things over.
I'm still working through some tasks, but I hope to put a more concise and coherent version of what I said into the first post tonight.
"Thanks to all who participated in the pvp tournament. We appreciate all the support and all the people who attended. In the end Cowcaine was able to beat all his opponents and take away 2 million and a white dye with Shanatan following closely behind with a mil. Due to the support I will most likely host another event similar to this one fairly soon so make sure to pay attention
For the time being, we are changing the schedule for the PvP Tournament. It will not be biweekly.
Details of when, where, how, why, who, and what will be provided here by Tommytom14 at some point in the future.
The first post will be edited accordingly.
I’ve finally gotten around to setting up a forum account! …I’m kinda new to this so I apologize if things look weird ^_^;
The 8th Ornac Music Contest will be held on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at 3pm PST on ch7. We will meet at Lake Calida (mana tunnel), near Legatus, the Blue Dragon as usual.
The current theme is “oriental”, and entries must be finished and submitted by Sunday, March 12th, 2017 in order to participate in the contest. Any scrolls used in the contest must be made by the participant and have chords visible. Please provide scrolls to me (Retsamehtmai), Zairak or any non-participating judge.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
