Use the basket of something soft and fluffy to summon a new pet

I used the basket, it dissapeared, but nothing happens and the quest does not complete

    Is it possible that it added the Finny Finn + (your ign) to your pets tab? If so, summoning that critter at specified locations activates certain cutscenes or enables conversations and special analysis throughout that whole story. If that is not the case and it did not add it to your pet list, and Pinky still tells you shes waiting for you to use the item, the only way to resolve the issue is for the quest to somehow be destroyed and restarted.
